polish pad advice
just finished ultimate compound with orange/yellow pad. all swirls are gone. there are a very few imperfections left if you look just right with a very bright light. tomorrow i will apply ultimate polish. my question is; should i use the orange/yellow pad or the white pad?
I dont think the color of the pad should matter, unless they are different materials. When I buff/polish it out in the end, I usually use a white one, they come in packs of two, and they fit around the buffer I bought.
yeah, defiantly different. orange/yellow is for med cutting power and white is light cut/ polish. these are the Velcro style cobra pads that go on a porter cable
Yeah then I would go with the white one.

in the process now. on a pizza and beer break (try victory , golden monkey beer). the Z is looking so good i am afraid to ever let her out of the garage. lol she is literally glowing!

Nice snap a couple pics and post it up, interested to see how well the polish pads worked.
Will do
Seems like you already got it figured out, but yep... you should always step down your pads for the finishing work. Medium pads will leave the finish less than perfect and in need of refinement.

thanks.
