Meguiar's "Endurance" Tire Shine

Local store stopped carrying the usual tire shine that I have used in the past - Meguiar's Hot Tire Shine (in the black spray can) and started carrying Meguiar's Endurance Tire Shine in it's place.

Well I used this stuff today and I am NOT impressed. It comes in a pump spray bottle. The sprayer didn't want to work properly, and once I did get it working it puts out this HUGE fan of spray that goes EVERYWHERE.

It dries quickly so when you get it on the wheels you better be wiping it off quick because it's tough to get off. It sprays as a whitish liquid that tends to bubble up which means you have to wipe the tire down. Not a huge problem, but once you do that rag or towel is pretty much ruined. The the crud that comes off the tire won't wash out of it.

Once it's wiped down it looks ok, and because I just tried it tonight I can't say how long it lasts yet, but because of the other issues I'll be looking for something else to dress the tires with in the future.

Just thought I'd pass it on!

Probably the best OTC tire dressing is Armor All Extreme Tire Shine Gel. Doesn't sling and last a decent while. Optimum Opti-Bond is my personal favorite...plus you can't beat the price!

I like Meguiars, but I have to agree.... this stuff is crap. Luckily, I run a parts store and didn't have to pay for the junk. Same problem with the pump and very "streaky". I'll never use it again and wouldn't recommend it.

Well, at least their customer service people are good! I sent a message in with a complaint about the product, and got a reply within an hour or so stating that he would pass along the comments and offered a free can/bottle of Hot Shine of my choice, aerosol/spray/foam as a replacement. Great job Meguiar's! It's good to see a company make good on customer complaints!

i use their hotshine spray bottle and just spray a little bit into my Vroom tire dressing applicator (sold at target) and wipe onto the sidewall. works great, easy on. lasts through rain/wash. one bottle usally lasts me like 3yrs... that's how little i use.

tire is more of a satin finish than the super gloss plastic ugly look.

OK, I'll admit to being basically lazy. I like the use of a spray. A guy at work made a suggestion. He said he's seen people cut a piece of plywood or plexiglass in a circular shape the width of the wheel. With a hole in the center or some sort of handle, hold that up against the wheel and apply the spray to the tire. Sounds workable!

Use the gel version - it works great. Easy to apply and takes only seconds per wheel.

The Endurance Tire Spray Liquid is purple trash.... the endurance GEL is much better
Also, Black Magic makes a good tire GEL as well
