Pollen and bug splats
 

Ive recently bought a 2011 black 370z, so far it has been the car of my dreams but ive been havning to wash it once every two days due to extreme amounts of pollen on the car, in the atlanta area. Other than that are the bug splats on the front of the car are extremly visible and pollen makes a black car go green.

ANY SOLUTIONS OR PRODUCT TO PREVENT POLLEN STICKING OR REDUCE POLLEN. AND WHAT SHOUL I DO TO REMOVE THE BUG SPLATS???

To remove the bugs I just hose off the front of my car before I put it in the garage.
As far as the pollen the only thing you can do is wait till May.:tiphat:

I used my california duster to remove pollen... If the car is spotless otherwise, it will look just-washed after you give it a once over with the duster. Get a good coat of wax on it and the pollen will come right off. Worked like a charm last summer.

I agree with the duster. Best money to spend on something that does so much.

EVERY time I bring my car home and notice bug "splats" I just use my Mequires Quik Detailer and they come right off without affecting the finish of my MB Nismo. I just make sure not to let the bug guts bake in the sun, the longer you leave them on, the harder they are to get off.

Here in FL i deal with this on a daily basis. I just hand wax the Z and keep it in the garage as much as possible. also have a micro-fiber on hand

What's the difference in result between Quik Detailer and plain old water?

well, I personally feel that a detailer is less aggressive to the paint than water, hence less swirls. :tup:

quick detailers have improved lubricity over water... meaning less drag of your towel to minimize swirls. and most of them include some form of light protection either wax or polymer depending on the type you use.

I'm hesitant about using any type of towel for bug splats. I usually just take it to the "do it yourself" car washes, and use the bug remover solution that comes out of the high pressure nozzles.

I live out in Utah, and made the mistake of driving to Antelope Island in late April.... now, I lived in florida, so I'm no stranger to bugs.... But this was ridiculous.

I kid you not, that place was like a plague of moses.... there were literally tornados of bugs driving out to the park. my car was COVERED... My friend has pics on his camera of it... so I'll see if I can get ahold of them... but I couldn't even see out of my windsheild it was so bad.

I was mad as hell and I honestly though that the sheer amount of bugs on my hood, front bumper, grill, side view mirrors, and roof line, that my paint would be ruined.

My buddy used to detail cars, so he recomended using the bug solution at the do it yourself carwash, and thank god it worked like a charm. Had I tried to use quick detailer with a microfiber, I probably would've gone through about 4 bottles of QD, and over 50 microfibers. I was scared to wash it myself because I was afraid the bugs would scratch the paint if rubbed with anything.

QD works good for just a few bugs, but if your car looks like it was part of a war in Star Ship Troopers, you need to go to the DIY carwashes and use the bug removing solution.

yah, if i have a lot of bugs i use Wizard's BugRelease and just wash the car. :)

I have never driven a car that collects as many bugs as this car.

Hoping a dose of Griot's Bug Off! will make it easier to remove them.

Every time after I get home before I put the car away I just hose them off then put the car back in the garage.
You guys are over analysing it,

It's bugs it not rocket science.:rolleyes:

I do the same thing with pollen/dust. Just don't do it if your car is in the sun. The duster says don't use on hot surfaces.
