Need correction touch up tip for silver shift console

Well, my wife was trying to use the Z as a truck, placing a box on the passenger side which overlapped onto the silver part of the shifting console.:shakes head:
No scratches, just the silver paint was scuffed off in a few small places.

Would anyone have a recommendation for the correct product and application process for repair?

Thanks
Brian

Golly, I certainly didn't want to have to replace it just yet, unless of course this becomes a trend then I might have to buy 5 :icon14:

problem with that titanium colored satin paint is that if you polish it it turns shiny...and the layer is pretty thin. there's really not much you can do other than to paint it completely in a different color, wrap it with 3M DiNoc CF wrap, or replaced with new. :(

I have the same issue on the steering wheel. I think my wife's fingernails chipped off a piece of paint near the volume buttons. I've also been looking for a fix but there doesn't seem to be any option other than replacing it.

Going to overlook it for now until it stares at me too much driving me to replace it.
Sounds as though we have a breach of Z protocol

A trick Audi guys use to match the signature matte metallic silver trim is to use VHT Flat Silver Header paint, it matches perfectly and doesn't need any primer or prep work to apply.

What you say Wilson?:) I HAVE one of those:tup:

Really, the scuffs are rather small so this may be the short term camouflage fix

Thanks!

Any long term protection ideas? I imagine in a few years a bunch of people will have this type of problem. Maybe a clear bra rap for the shifter area?

Yeah, anything as a first line of defense of that sort without appearing tacky would be nice. Or just get the molding replacements mentioned earlier that I imagine are much more durable.

huh... i wonder how well this VHT silver might might match our wheels to touch up???
