waffle weave towels... use with detail spray?
 

can you use the waffle weave towels with the detail spray or is it better to use a microfiber... or does it even matter?

Im about to place my first order at adams polishes and want to make sure i get everything i need.

I would get some nice MF to use with detail spray... use waffle weave for drying...

You can use a good quick detailer as a drying aid in which case you can pair it with a waffle weave towel to dry the car. This is done by sheeting or blowing most of the water off the paint, only to leave a bit left on the car. Use one spray of QD per panel and then use your WW to dry it. It leaves the paint slick and amps the gloss up a bit in one step!

I agree with the above... and heres a little reasoning behind it.

With a detail spray (at least one like ours) you have a gloss enhancer you're introducing to the surface. In order for that product to do its work it needs to be spread out on the paint and any unevenness should be buffed away.

A waffle towel will, by design, absorb the product before it has a chance to do its job. Plush towels on the other hand are not very absorbent. To that end for a cleaner like waterless wash I recommend a waffle weave towel, for a spray with gloss enhancers like detail spray I recommend plush.

There is no "right or wrong" in this, but thats the reasoning behind our recommendations here at Adam's.

I agree-I use waffle weave when I want the dirt trapped like with a waterless wash after the car has been dusted with a California Duster.

what about just spraying some detail spray as you do your final drying. use waffle weave or plush?

I use the waffle weave towels with any type of runny liquid that I am using on the paint. That includes the waterless wash and detail spray. My reasoning behind it is that the plush towel tend to drink up liquids and spread them unevenly. The waterless towels drink up the liquids even more, but they spread the liquids very evenly (this is also why they make such great drying towels). The only thing that I use plush microfiber for is removing wax or buffing the finish. I may use a waffle weave towel to wipe the finish down with detail spray and then buff the finish with a plush microfiber towel.

That's the way I do it.

Thanks junkman, i agree i notice that the plush microfiber towels tend to drink up my detail spray and not wipe it away as evenly.
