average joe to average joe - even if you're okay with just touching it up, you still want to remove the cancer (rust) before you paint over it. :)

Question from Avg JOE: Would you recommend against it if I was to simply paint over the troubled spots?

For the average Joe, Dr. Colorchip or the Lankga system! Don't make it harder than it is. These outfits have come up with a way to handle paint chips so that no sandpaper is involved. That is always a safer option.

Dealership? They can match your car's paint by the paint code.
