Question about Zaino and Z-AIO...
 

i picked up a 40th Z in May and i recently bought a few zaino products(z7,z2,Z-fx). I have only used z7 so far and i am planning to do a complete wash,clay, and seal soon but i have a few very minor swirls(dealer) that are only noticeable in direct sunlight.
I am wondering if i should:
1. buy Z-AIO to try and and remove them
2. buy z5 and try to hide them
3. some swirls always going to be visible in direct sunlight?

I would rather use ZAIO then trying to hide it with z5.
If you know about it, it's probably going to bother you, so I would clean it up.

While you're at it, I would also pick up some detail spray and a clay bar.
(don't use the detail spray for the claying, just mix a little Zaino Shampoo and water in a spray bottle)

I would buy a porter cable and polish out the swirls if you're really picky about swirls. I wouldn't try to hide it because it won't hide it very well or for very long. The dealership left swirl marks on my black b pillar and I removed the marks with my polisher. When you clay your car you will leave fine scratches, which you most likely won't be able to see unless the light hits the paint just right. That's why people polish the car after claying.

I dont recommend the shampoo with water as lubricant. Tried it and left swirls. Tried it with detail spray... no swirls! I've learned my lesson!

.. and i agree with azn370. buy a porter cable, much easier to remove swirls once you have your technique down.

I dont believe Z-aio will remove any swirls.
I dont believe z5 will truely hide it. Z5 in my opinion doesnt work like its supposed to and is hard to remove after putting on.

I think you would be better off porter cable and useing z-2.

thanks for the suggestions guys, i picked up the zaio and i'm going to try out the full zaino routine. If i'm not happy with the result i'll go pickup a PC and give it a whirl.:tiphat:

should zaio be the applied like z-2, as little as possible and using little arm pressure on the applicator?

I've (and with me many others) had no issues doing this....
Make sure you mix in enough shampoo in your spray bottle and use the right shampoo (I use Z7) and finally make sure you lubricate the surface enough.

Z-AIO has got light abrasives, agreed that they are light, but he also said he had very light swirls...

Z2 has no abrasives at all, so even with a PC, that's not going to do much good. Maybe you meant Z-PC

If you have a hard time removing Z5, you're putting it on too thick.
As when applies correctly it's very easy to wipe off.

Basically yes, I just wouldn't use any ZFX, it dries pretty quick without it...

if i apply z5 to thick then i apply z2 to thick.

Either way z2 comes off quicker than z5 using the same techniques. Maybe i have a bad bottle i dont know.

Z5 also did not hide any thing for me so i cant recommend it.
I found best results with just z2.

Could be the bottle, I did find that the first coat is the hardest to buff out.
Any coat after goes easier and that spraying some Z6 in between helps as well.

I fixed all the swirls before applying any Z5, so I can't really testify whether the hiding works. But I can believe that it probably doesn't do much.
I just use it to layer it, as I found my paint looked a bit flat with just Z2.
In your case with a black car I'm sure flat paint is not an issue...

When I was using Zaino, i thought Z5 was easy to remove, actually. It was the Z2 that was tough to get everything even (if that makes any sense?) i.e evenly spread out without there being noticeable areas where Z2 was applied thicker than other areas?

Anyways, really happy with Adam's at the moment.

i actually found z2 to make my black sparkle and i felt z5 hid my metal flakes with out hiding any scratches so i was a little turned off to it.
