Ceramic Coating Question?

Was wondering if I get my car ceramic coated would it be a problem down the road if I need to get it painted. Would they be able to get the coating off with no problem and is ceramic coating really worth it?

There are different levels of ceramic coating. Most of the ones you can apply yourself can be removed without too much trouble; worst case you have to buy a specific product for removal. One of the newer trends is graphene ceramic coatings. They are easy on and easy off.

Won’t be any problem. Even the strongest ceramic coating can’t withstand being sanded down.

From bottom to top: Bare metal, primer, paint, clear coat, then wax/sealant/coating/whateva combo.

In order for a panel to be properly repainted, painter needs to sand off clear coat. Whatever sitting on top of the clear coat will get removed.

So do you know who makes the strongest ceramic coating?

The hardness is rated 1-10. Look for 9H and 10H rated products.

Check out youtube channel "ScottHD". He does these multi-product test on the same panel, let them sit in the sun/rain/snow, and do monthly update until most/all of them die off.

The body shop would have to buff off the coating. Of if you're changing the color they would just sand the old clear coat/coating off

Qtechnique, kamikaze, gyeon are a few of the higher end on the hardness scale. Stay away from the fly by night ones on amazon and Facebook.

that guy is such a POS garbage human tho, don't support his channel.

make sure you do a full paint correction before ceramic coating.

if you're going to apply it yourself here's a good video

if you're getting a shop to do it they will do the paint correction for you.

bood ceramic coatings to consider IMO are:

cquartz uk 3.0
gyeon mohs
kamikaze zipang
armorshield (really easy to apply)
