Windshield Replaced
And finally getting this done today. I got a very small stone that hit me during a rainstorm. That tiny chip turned into this ever-growing 10" plus crack along the backside. Finally decided it is time to replace it. I got from the oldest glass shop here in Mesa SunTec Windshield Replacement doing the repair right in my garage. anyone else have this done?

First thing to do is ask if they have ever done a windshield replacement on a 370Z before. If not, make them send another tech that has done at least 3-4.
Even experienced repair techs can break the clips holding on the exterior A-pillars so request they bring some just in case (most do, but I like to keep extras on hand). Check all of the clips after removal and demand they replace any prior to reinstallation. There is also a chance they could break one or more of the built-in seats on the A-pillar that hold the clips; demand replacement of the entire A-pillar if that happens. You wouldn't be the first person to have the A-pillar fly off at highway speeds a few weeks after a windshield replacement. Last time I had it done, I had all the necessary interior trim pieces and engine cowls removed when the guy showed up. We each removed one A-pillar and then I let him do the windshield replacement himself. We split the work putting everything back together as well and he gave me a discount on my deductible  |
