Ok its been awhile, so whats everyone using for a ceramic type product for paint protection ? i just did a detail on my z with mothers cmx coating was very easy to use turned out great. i did two coats and will report later the long term results. First impressions are thumbs up !

I applied a ceramic coating from AvalonKing last summer. Pretty happy with the results. Great hydrophobicity and a super shiny, deeper, slightly darker looking paint. Did the wheels as well. Definitely less effort and time spent during a wash.

I used the Chemical Guys Hydroslick and I also used the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic spray. Both put a SERIOUS luster on the Pearl White paint. Now I'm not used to pimping products this cheap and easy to apply, but these 2 products really added a nice sheen and the SiO2 properties added the ultimate hydrophobic aspect to the intent as well!!

I have used Chemical Guys Hydroslick and it works well. Although not like a high end ceramic product like the expensive ones the pros use but it was easy to apply and give the Z a high gloss shine.

Prep of the surface is everything!! The smoother the surface the shinier the results! I clay barred, washed, then polished and Gyeon coated it. :happydance:

Having a ceramic pro applied to mine on tuesday will update you with a before and after. not something we can do ourselves I don't think (or me at least) but hopefully its worth the cost lol

It can be a time consuming process but the overall difficulty was not high. The hardest part is getting the paint in the best condition you can before coating it.
The actual coating process was pretty easy process. It was a bit unnerving as it this was my first time using it and didnt want to bork it up. In the end it wasnt any more difficult than using a regular wax or sealant, just a bit different process. Esoteric Detailing has some good videos on youtube that goes over some of the details and application of different products.

Post up some pics when you get it done. :driving:
