Too Shiney

This question isn't about my Z, but my practical car a 2016 Corolla. It has hard plastic surrounding the speedometer and tach bezel that reflect something awful. It catches the corner of my eye and I actually think an idiot light has come on. Any idea what I can do to reduce the shine. I hate to use emery cloth or something like that which will scratch. I tried some plastic and rubber treatment from Griots that isn't supposed to shine but the glare is still there.

Electrical tape should do the trick. Although it may take some effort to make it look clean.

Scuff it with some 2000 grit sandpaper. Problem solved.
