Help, towel melted on hood
Hey guys, I messed up and forgot my microfiber towel on the hood after wiping a spot on my windshield with rubbing alcohol (for windshield chip repair) and it melted on my hood. This **** won't come off, I've tried goo gone and claybar. It's like flush with my paint now :'(
Help lol https://i.imgur.com/ebgChOK.jpg https://imgur.com/a/iyCZqmk |
Compounding, or wet sanding worst case scenario?
|
A new cf hood?
|
That's melted then rehardened plastic and will probably have to be buffed out. The paint is thin, so take it to a pro.
It might flake off if you get it cold enough but you run the risk of warping the body panel. |

First off where the heck do you live that a towel melted on your car?
2nd get some quality towels that are not dyed. I only use white Adam's micro towels. I live in south Carolina and in 105 degrees leaving in my car for hours they wouldn't do this. Lesson learned I guess |
Looks like a large yellow orange pu$$y imprint on your hood. Leave it on.
Btw. If that's how you handle your towels when detailing I recommend you stay away from orbitals. |
