First paint chip on my 2017 pearl white :(

I've had the car for less than a month and I just discovered a paint chip on the hood of the car near the headlight. It looks like a rock chip most definitely which I'm pretty sure isn't covered by the warranty.

Is there like a touchup paint kit you guys recommend I buy?

I was looking into this kit

Here's the chip

Resized the humongous pic :)

That chip isn't something I'd really worry about. imo

Regular color coded touch-up paint should be pretty close.

I personally think if you touch-up things you'll make things more noticeable IF the colors a bit off.

Any recommendations on the touch up paint?

Sorry to say, that's the first of many rock chips you're going to get on that part of your car.

Best solution IMHO is prevention. I had a Clear Bra installed when I got my 2014....not a chip to be seen anywhere, almost 20,000 miles. The biggest bonus I've found though is that bugs wipe right off with just a damp cloth, maybe a little soap, and the bug guts don't stain the Clear Bra like they would stain or etch the clear coat on my Pearl White.

Yea, I'm going to look into get a clear bra installed. Did you just do the front bumper/hood? How much did it run you if you don't mind me asking?

I checked out their site. It gave me this message when I picked out pearl white.

This is a tri-coat pearl / 3-stage color, meaning it was painted with a base coat, pearl coat and tinted clear coat. There is not a single color formula that exactly matches. However, the paint you receive should allow for a very close color match and yield far better results than using regular touch-up paint. Please check the box to acknowledge this.

Should I be worried? lol

First paint chip on my 2017 pearl white

Nothing to worry about I had a PW z and currently a PW juke no one else will ever see chip spot unless you point it out to them. Just follow instructions

:iagree: I've used this with very good results.

And OP, be thankful your Z isn't black. Keeping the front end of mine looking half-way decent is a constant struggle. Every chip stands out.

$600 for 3M, front only and 1/3 of the hood, plus kick panels and the rocker panels. After 3 years, I haven't had a reason to regret not doing more coverage. The 3M Scotchguard has been great...no bubbling, no lifting/peeling, no yellowing.

it's a magnet up front...kinda got to get use to it,,,windshield & just above, back side of mirror's,front side of rear fender's,lower rocker panel's,etc...

Repair the chip and go get a clear bra installed. It's not 100% but it's better than not having one.
