Scratched interior? Use a Heat Gun

Yesterday I noticed that the upper most part of my center console near the shifter was scratched to all heck. Most likely due to the zipper on my jacket. It's been frío in NE Florida lately.

So this morning I broke out my heat gun and got to work. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! It practically looks brand new. Its important to keep it a safe distance from the plastic and keep it in constant motion so you don't get "wet spots" is as good as I can describe it.

looks good.... What exactly do you consider jacket weather in NE Florida? just curious....

Nice results. I've got some spots where I might try that out :tiphat:

I always zip up my jacket when I get near the Z (more concerned about paint than interior TBH). But we rarely have the need for one here in TX. It was upper 30s this morning on my drive into work, and I was in short sleeves with the windows down and the heater on

nice! I didn't know you can do that. Looks great!

Thanks for the compliments guys :)

My neighbors car had ice over it this morning.

I've always thought about doing this but never have. Good to see that it works!

I have a scratch that's always bothered me. I shall try this. :)

So heatgun + what, exactly? Or did the heat just melt away the scratches?

Hmmmm

About a week after I took delivery of my Z I noticed some azzhat had put a scratch in the glovebox lid. If I'd spotted it earlier I would have called the dealer on it and demanded they replace it.
I'm thinking it just might be a bit too deep.
