If the wheels are filthy, use a wheel cleaner like Adams, sonax or p21s brand. If they're just dirty only use car wash soap and water with a wash mitt and wheel woollies.

yah stay away from foam sponges. they keep grit at the top of the surface and u drag it resulting in scratches.
