Anyone good at guess-timating dent repair cost?

It appears some #$%^@#$ has hit my car in a parking lot and took off!

Luckily it doesn't seem to be really 'damaged' but more dented in. Also the bumper seems to have shifted slightly out of place. Any knowledgeable peeps out there have any idea how much something like this costs to fix? (Few pics attached) I'll go get some actual estimates of course, but just curious now ahead of time.

I'm assuming there's going to be no point going through insurance, since between my deductible and risk of my premium going up, I'm stuck footing the bill myself on this one. There are countless inconsiderate, inept driving douches out there :shakes head:

Ruined my day! I've had the car out for 1 week and drove it 3 times to 4 places. I walked into Metro for 5 mins to pick up groceries, then picked up takeout for lunch for 5 more mins. It almost feels like someone just drove up to my car and hit it on purpose and left :(

Thanks for any info you guys have for me! Appreciate it

i'm finding the pictures really hard to see, but for starters you should go by a dentless repair shop and see if they can fix it. it will be the cheapest option if they can do the work.

Try PDR. A repair like that is around $150. If you go to a body shop, it's probably around $300. At that point, you might as well replace the panel. I'd try the PDR first since matching the paint can be a pain in the a$$.

Looks like you need a new light as well. Hopefully you can find one used because they are not cheap.

Is that white line a crease or a reflection in the second pic?

Whether or not it will affect your rate depends on a lot of things. I had a big claim a few years back and my rates didn't change. But I've been with State Farm for 40 years and haven't made many claims. YMMV

Oh it's a reflection. I took the pictures at 7pm but my car was just too damn shiny lol

What's wrong with my light? :O It seemed okay to me..

So I checked with a couple places.. they said because the dent is on the body line and edge of the fender, PDR will not be possible. Fixing it will cost $350-$400 :(

I might just get a new fender and have it painted, once I check how much that will cost.

Maybe the light is fine. In the last pic it kinda looks cracked.

Looks like the top of the lens has popped out of the bezel to me. Cracked or popped, it needs to be fixed before water gets in there.
