I'm sure you could find a E92 M3 for $25k if you looked hard enough.. of course it would have been DD all year in fort mac and has 230,000km on it.. Just because there are 370's AVAILABLE for 18k, 25k, etc that doesn't mean that's the value of a 370 in todays market. You get what you pay for.

right, of course you can find 10k 370Z that have been rolled but thats not what we're talking about is it?

25k is the average price for a 370z these days (meaning one in decent to good condition).... a 2010 with 500 km on it will go for much more but those are few and far between. the majority of used Zs are now going for 25k (or less)

10K I think you are out to lunch on that figure……cheapest one in Canada wide search auto trader is 13.9K and take a look I doubt you could even use it for parts :ugh2:

I'm not sure what that is based on.. looking at 91 370Z's on auto trader, from 2009-2012 (excluding 2013/2014 so as not to skew the price high) and totalling the prices, the average (mean) price is $32,300. Let's assume that the persons selling them being a dealer or private negotiated $2000 less than asking to close the sale. That is still an average price of $30,000. Out of all 91 cars only 10 were 26,000 or less. 8 were $25,000 or less and of those one was sitting in the snow with the body wrecked ($16,995), the one for ($13,950) was smashed, the one for ($18,800) the front right side was totalled. ($18950) front left was totalled.

In fact the cheapest one that hadn't been crashed was ($22800) with 88000km and was sitting in the snow. That means of 91 cars, 5 of them were $25,000 or less. That leads me to two conclusions:
1) People in quebec can't drive for **** (all 4 smashed Z's were from there); and
2) You aren't really well versed on how averages work.

At the end of the day, it really comes down to what the buyer is willing to pay and what the seller is willing to sell it for. As an owner who bought his ZR brand new, it hurts looking at what it's worth now. But it is what it is. Would I sell it for the range that's it's going for? Not when I don't need the money so even on the high side of the market place. Most guys always think their penis is bigger somehow anyway.

The market will bare whatever but finding the right one and at the right price is up to the buyer. I often see guys says "I won't pay this or that...you know what? don't. Set your internal budget, look at all the availability within or near that budget and go from there. If you got $25gs budget please don't think you use that budget when the buyer is asking for $35.

Totally agree. My point is just that saying the 'average price of 370's these days' is 25k isn't correct no matter what way you slice it. Or that the majority of Z's for sale now is $25k. An average price is a definitive thing that can be calculated mathematically. Right now, in Canada, it is about $32,000. Do some people want to pay that? No, and they won't as you said. Doesn't change the facts though. No point in posting something like that when it is wholly incorrect data.

But yes. Deals can be had. A buddy just picked up a 2010 Vert with 15000km for 28k. Full load except Nav.

As a car owner, it sucks and it hurts that your beloved car is shrinking in value. But lets face it, we didn't buy Veyrons here. Its sucks losing money but the cars are not getting any younger.

A Canadian Z has a $10,000+ premium over a US model. Just because of our dollar, and the gouging car companies.

I bought/imported a US model for a smoking deal. Like I said earlier in the thread, I could put my car back to stock, sell it tomorrow and make a profit.

Funny, eh? The difference in the C7 MSRP between Can/US is only about $1000.

That's a US built car. The 370z is built in Japan so each country has a different import tax on the car. I'm assuming that is why we need Vasoline everytime we shop for cars where as our American counterparts need only the desire to step into the showroom where they're greeted by a salesman wearing knee pads begging them to buy the car at cost.

That's surprising. GM was/is one of the worse offenders for having an insane price differential US - CDN.

Funny, I was curious about what the market was like and saw most 40th's going for between 31-35K, I was presently surprised. Whether they close on that amount is another story but who knows.

Do you happen to know what the best method of selling a car is? I tried everything from craigslist to autotrader to Kijiji and no luck. I just financed it 2 months ago and now having buyer's remorse... Don't get me wrong, the car is awesome and crosses off my checklist in terms of what I am looking for in a car EXCEPT payments. I am thinking I need to go for a car that's more in the 20s for now as I just recently graduated and started working full-time.

Any pieces of advise would be appreciated.
