I might as well wrap the whole thing, why bother painting it for $2600. I'm going to ask Velocity next, and I have a couple other shops in mind if they don't give me the quote that I want for exhaust/coils/kit.

If you guys know anyone who can give me good deals + paint match the PW, let me know. ;)

PW Is a little harder to paint and match as far as I know. I'll PM you what it cost me

$2600 to remove wrap, prep, paint, fit and install isn't a bad price for a complete Amuse kit.

this is a previously installed kit, I assume it'll be easier to fit.

Amuse370z, why don't you ask how much it'll cost to do the job if the wrap is removed(you could do it yourself)

:iagree: to many people are looking for the cheapest work possible, this is not always the best idea IMO. I see it in my trade all the time as well, I am an electrician people want the best price for the best work but those two things do not go hand in hand. In the end you are better off to get it done right and pay a little more for quality work. If you want cheap I know a guy who does body work and paint out of a shop out back of his house, however I wouldn't take my Z to him DD sure Z/hobby car no :ugh2:

Just for comparison have you inquired to see how much it is to get your car repainted(from a good shop)? I bet it is a lot more then you would expect :ugh2: but hey you can always go to Maaco :roflpuke2:

fitment might be easy but you gotta remember once the vinyl is stripped off then the parts still need to be fully prepped for paint again. They will not be able to just peel it off and paint it as is, that would look like sh!t!

there are companies that charge an arm and a leg for electrical work. you can't compare good work with cheap work:iagree:. But, you should always shop around so you don't get ripped off.

There was a company that wanted $9k for a few things done around my house. that included panel change/upgrade, 6 pot light upgrade, two lights for backyard and a sensor for staircase. I ended up getting a licensed individual(not a company) who did the work for Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay less.

true and I didn't say anything about full prep. It's a lot more involved than it looks.

I fully understand that as it is my line of work, but you should let you know the price you got was so high because you get a guarantee with the company and they pull all the permits and paper work associated with your upgrade, you can also sleep well knowing there were no short cuts and there is a company name attached to it. what the licensed guy did was illegal and they could have lost their license if he was caught or if anything went wrong :ugh2: I am one to talk because I also take on side work but I pick and choose who I do it for where as some of my co-workers just advertise online and take on anyone and everyone :shakes head: at least know the person or know the person that recommended you to that person. IMO that's playing with fire when you advertise online how do they now they didn't just take a job from an ESA inspector? then show up with your tools and boom your already done here come the fines etc….

guaranteed quality work comes with a price……..

just :twocents: to :stirthepot:

to tell you the truth $9k sounds about right for what you had done if it was a company. sure side job I could probably do it for 40% of that price but again there is no guarantee with a side job guy and you are then required to pass the work off as your own for the inspector and hydro company before they will turn your power back on :ugh2:

Ontopic: I will be surprised if the price is much better then $2600, anything <$2000 and I would be skeptical……. could turn into more when you go in to pick it up! "well we had to do more of this _______" don't forget elite concepts currently has the kit at their shop and they know what will be required to get this back to "like new" he has been able to go over the kit and knows what is needed. Not to mention you are also getting coil overs and exhaust instal which I know doesn't cost that much but it does add to the total :ugh2:

OIC, but the prep is what will be the majority of the cost, that and the painting. There will be a lot of sanding needed to get it looking good!
