GaleForce 03-07-2013 07:59 AM

zefaulter 03-07-2013 08:39 AM

What spam, lol?

I don't know the shipping cost but I'm gonna contact them.

If you're interested, you need to sign up and "request". They need 100 sign ups total

rAiN 03-07-2013 08:50 AM

actually go with the blackvue dr500gw-dr. better than dr400 model.
you can even live stream what cam records within 15 meters.
My father is distributor in Korea, i can get these for you very cheap.

zefaulter 03-07-2013 09:41 AM

Really? Wow that would be amazing. I didn't want to consider it because it costs double the price.
Any idea how much I can get this for? I may need 10

with the interested rate of its going, i should just become a vendor

MX52Z 03-08-2013 05:12 PM

I really like this cam! If a group buy doesn't materialize here, I'm going to buy a 32Gb one and that cool power block next week anyway.

zefaulter 03-08-2013 05:21 PM

Might as well rAiN... Might as well! Lol

Da.Menace 03-09-2013 05:44 PM

Just so you guys know.
1) There is already an official distributor and vendor for this product in both USA and Canada. Search it on Google.
2) There is a problem with both Blackvue DR400G-HD and DR400G-HD II (Overheating issues and/or quality of video degrading over time)

And yes, it overheats in Canadian summers too which is odd. I can't imagine the chances of overheating in the southern states of USA.

The people who bought them from group buy hosted last year had to do various modifications to the thing to fix the overheating problem.
They were doing stuff like cutting "venting holes" + mounting a heatsink on the device to make it "cool faster".
Some guys were protecting the camera with reflective sun visors so the camera doesn't overheat.
Plus some other guy had to leave a crack with their window so that "air ventilates".

With the above mentioned hassles.. I don't know guys. Each to their own I guess.

However, I'm not sure if the problem still exists with the DR500G since its still fairly new.

As for the "Power Block", I assume that it is the "Power Magic Pro" that they sell.
Even though the device is suppose to enable the camera to be powered even though the car is off (obtaining power from the battery directly), however there are reports from users that it still drained their battery nonetheless and they had to power boost their cars after 3 days or so.

Interesting points. I know about the overheating issue but I thought it only affects the first dr400 not the second edition, dr400 hd II.

Why not use a GoPro instead?

It's about convenience too. What If you forget to start recording on a day that you have an accident? I don't want to have to remember to press "record" everytime I get in the car. besides that, GoPro doesn't record speed, no GPS, no motion detector and doesn't look as good IMO:D

I didn't realize the other one started recording on its own. Thanks for the info

zefaulter 03-15-2013 07:24 PM

Just to update this thread: I received my first livue lb100 and it's a great dash cam. I started a group buy at my work place and we have 15 on the list so far. I'm getting in touch with the company to see how far we can get the price down to.
If anyone is interested, feel free to pm me or add your name here. I will update with more details soon hopefully

I am trying to find a cam with a multi view option.......... a lot look cheap and crappy so far

jareau 04-01-2013 09:36 PM

This site:
Best mini hd car dvr and in car dvr recorder wholesale - TinyDeal

My co-worker purchased this one from them:
(CUBOT) 1.5 Screen 1080P HD Car DVR Vehicle Black Box VDV-155827 - TinyDeal

Scroll down, look at the youtube sample video (Be sure to click on 1080p in the youtube player).

His primary use: Just in case he needs to provide proof for an insurance claim.
His secondary use: Just in case something youtube worthy happens in front of his car.

That's it, plain and simple. The package arrived vis DHL in about 6 business days.

I held the unit in my hands. It feels like a toy. Very similar to holding a web cam in your hands.

Worth the few bucks? I think so.

I haven't ordered one, or more, cuz I cant decide which to buy. But I will.

zefaulter 04-01-2013 09:45 PM

good quality for the price for sure

bimmer 04-30-2013 11:25 PM
