Also as Mike said I save about $50 a month on ins. but that is taken by having to pay for parking so that even's out...

Edit: Another big bonus for me is right now I drive 100+ K's a day so I am able to spread that out between two cars and not overload my Z

Same here. Considering the cost of winter rims and tires = 2k, adding 2k more will get u a beater already. Plus insurance savings of $200/mth (for me) so it makes perfect sense to store the z and drive a beater

Wow, you guys are paying $200/month for insurance??? I am definitely paying far less. In fact, if I were to make some additional but minor changes, I would be paying around $150/month for insurance on the Z. By the way, I drive less than 8,000km annually. My 2005 Acura RSX has only about 66,000km mileage at the moment. Sadly, my RSX got rear-ended three times in the last five years. That's twice at the same intersection. And the cost of repair through insurance has been less than $800 for all three.

Sibze 12-22-2010 08:25 PM

I'm paying around 140 a month

That sounds right. Not the $200/month mentioned earlier, LOL.

Dizzy 12-22-2010 09:50 PM

For once, being a bit older, pays dividends. I only pay about $90 a month - $1100 for a year, all perils, 2 mil liability.

And oh yeah - she's in the garage, washed, waxed, covered and otherwise winterized.....protected from corrosion and the other nastiness that's out there right now.

To be more precise I pay $16x.xx/mth. $200/mth is just a round up and not exactly what I'm paying. Just easier to calculate.

$ 81.60 / month, 2009 370z.
much older than you guys

LOL, I get the picture, LOL. HO HO HO ! Don't worry, it will be over in two weeks.

Well, in heavy snow, I will definitely be driving my RSX. In light snow, it would be either the RSX or Z. Afterall, what was the point of the buying the Blizzaks, right ?

Are you in the London area, Mike ? Explains why you would want to park your Z for the winter season. Southwestern Ontario got pounded with snow over the last few weeks, unlike here in Toronto where there is very little snow on the roads and people are still complaining, LOL !

Ya kinda close to London, but really I am closer to Kitchener-Waterloo. I don't mind the snow though cause I love snowboarding!

:iagree: splitting the KMS is really nice, especially when it is the harsh weather the Z is not seeing!

As far as the insurance issue, I am only 24 and pay $203/month for full coverage..... but for parking insurance I am only paying $33 so the savings are huge! plus on the beater I only spent >$1000 to get one! Then to get PL PD insurance (the bare minimum to drive in Ontario) it is dirty cheap, just under $60. I also have gotten just over 2 years of driving out of my last one with no problems! I love it cheap and I don't care about them to much so I can use it to do any odd jobs and fill it full of crap! this year I got a 97 pathfinder, the last 2 summers when I was driving a 95 pathfinder. Both cost me less then $1000 and as I said I got 2 years out of my last one and still got $450 back on it when I sold it in the spring and got my 370!

LOL, that's one heck of a round up. $160 is much cheaper than $200 a month. That would amount to an additional $480 a year if you were paying the latter for car insurance.

By the way, a question on insurance, I know some insurance offers $0 deductible and etc. but your monthly premium goes up. What's your take on that ? Is it really worth getting $0 deductible for collisions and upsets as well as no coverage for windshield repair.

LMBmikeZ 12-23-2010 08:09 PM

I would say no it's not worth going $0, unless you have bad luck or are a bad driver...... I go $500 just for the little bit of savings. But also if the accident is not your fault (you are actually not at fault/not charged from the officer) then you don't even pay your deductible because it is on the other drivers insurance cause they are at fault.......

Was gonna reply again....then thought....holy hijacked thread!!!! :icon18:

LMBmikeZ 12-24-2010 02:10 PM

haha :iagree:

But this thread is pretty repetitive when I comes to Z sightings though, I mean you might as well post when you see any rare car.............. :ughdance:

Pharmacist 01-11-2011 01:16 PM

I can't believe it but i actually saw a grey Z today! It was heading north on warden and steeles at around noon. I only glanced it but it had some black winter rims, I think they were steel ?!???!!?!?!?! but not sure
