my car is shaking ...

Im on 34,000km now and just got oil change last week.

I started my engine and I drove as same as I drive.

but RPM did not go over 2,500rpm it tries to go up but the car shakes

and exhaust too.

oh and when I changed my engine oil,

oil needed to be fill up little more. I puted 4.5 litter

can this be cause by not filling up engine oil fully?

I'd suggest checking your oil level before driving any further. Do you have any warning lights?

Sounds like the car has gone into 'limp mode'. Try recycling the ignition start cycle. Did you drive the car hard and overheat it or fuel starve it? All will put it into limp mode. (ie: you won't be able to rev over 2500rpms)

oh you mean the spark plug? i never heard about limp mode :( hm what is ignition start cycle? u mean the start button?

I see overheating these days a lot. and I don't drive very hard usually but sometimes. and I didn't drive my car during winter and before I put my car, I did oil change.

but I forgot to fill all the fuel up.. only half..

6MT 06-12-2012 03:14 PM

No, not the spark plug. Sounds like you may have had a fuel starvation issue. Cycling the start (ignition switch) a few times will usually reset that. Otherwise, remove the battery terminal for about 5 minutes.

Ahh...

Next time keep an eye on your oil temp guage. It's one of the three pods on the center of the dash. Limp mode kicks in at around 280 degrees. This can happen from very spirited driving and the main reason why people install an oil cooler (pre 2012 models). It will return to normal once the car cools down.

Wait... 4.5 liter? Doesn't our car requires 5 qt/4.9 Liters?

If the oil temp reaches 280 degress, the ecu will throw the car into "limp mode". Basically it's a way to prevent damage to the engine. It stops you from revving past 3000 rpms. This can happen if you are on a track or very spirited driving. You should be fine if you drive "normally" on the street. The 2012's and newer come with an oil cooler. Anything before that requires an aftermarket oil cooler if you plan to track your car.

Too bad Nissan won't acknowledge the problem and offer that as a recall. It's a known issue and probably the biggest issue with the 370. Never happened to me as I don't drive it that hard, but obviously well documented.
