Choosing the right garage door

Hello Everyone.
The question of the right garage door for our 370Z is important.
You must choose a garage door safe, solid, functioning at all times and who is a good value for money. Personally, when I bought my 370Z, I compared the manufacturers and distributors. I decided to contact the company Promaster. Level speed, quality, price, I have nothing to say. If someone other suggestions, feel free.
I think it is important to compare offers in order to offer our car the best.:yum:

I had succeeded in programming one garage door when I first got my z in 2012. I recently moved and now cannot reprogram.

I have followed the steps in clearing the Z's memory, but it will not recognize a new signal. I hold the button and it flashes slowly for about 90 seconds then goes out. I never get a rapid flash.

I have a 2013 liftmaster 8355

Followed these instructions

Liftmaster/Chamberlain garage door openers now use Security + 2.0 as their rolling code protocol and both Lear Car2U (General Motors) and HomeLink (Nissan and just about everyone else) built in garage door buttons aren't compatible. I bought a new Chamberlain. It has the new security protocol and I couldn't program any of my cars, Nissan and GMC, I finally found out I had to buy a repeater for each protocol. Now the door works normally with all three cars.

Look to see if your Liftmaster says Security+ 2.0. If so, it won't work with current Homelink without a repeater.

Thanks MacCool. I was hoping I wouldn't need one since they are only a year apart in manufacture. That seems to be what the problem is, will pick a repeater up.

Homelink repeater you can buy off Amazon. For GM, you have to buy the repeater from Lear.

I am having the same problem . I can't get the homelink button to go from slow blink to fast blink. The instructions tell me to do the learn function after the fast blink but I never get there.

Car is a 2011 370z, garage door opener is a liftmaster 8550 brand new. and has security+ 2.0. Are they just not compatable? Will I need the repeater.

This process is increadibly frustrating. It worked on the Lexus and I didn't even need to do the learning function, the Toyota wont pair and the Z wont pair. Probably wasted over an hour on this by now between pushing buttons and trying to google this problem.

I am still researching jdsto.

What really irks me is that on the homelink site it clearly states that our homelink is compatible, just have to follow their instructions.

I suppose one option is to call homelink, though with customer service the way it is these days, better off to keep looking online for a solution

I'm glad its not just me, the instructions are not that complicated. I figured I was capable of reading and following simple instructions in english.

I am planning to get the installer to come back to the house and help me. I paid a small fortune for the garage doors and openers. They can help me for what I paid. If I need the repeater they can throw it in. If the installer can sort it out without adding the repeater I will post up the procedure. It will probably be a week or so.

Yes...they are just not compatible. It's that simple. You need the Liftmaster repeater. That will fix the problem.

Frustrating for Liftmaster too. The car mfgrs have had the Security +2.0 software for 3 years. Some mfgrs have just chosen not to implement it yet. My wife's 2012 Murano doesn't work with our new garage door opener, nor did my 2014 370Z. I plugged in the repeater, initialized with the remote that they supply with the repeater, and both vehicles programmed normally, first try.

I tried to program mine also. The light on the homelink never changes or blinks. I gave up and clipped the provided opener to the sunvisor.

Roddy, if the light on your Homelink mirror does not blink or turn red when the button is held down, then check the fuse. The fuse box by your left foot.

The dealers often partially back out the fuse for the rear view mirror to prevent the draw on the battery when the car is sitting in the lot. Simply push the fuse back in and your Homelink should work.

And BTW, the best way to program your Homelink is to simply press the "learn" button on your garage door opener, and then hold down the Homelink button you want programmed. It's easier than fiddling with a remote.

got the repeater, the garage door supplier threw it in for free. everything works perfect now.
