TPMS not activated @ PDI? Anyone?

Found out today that my TPMS sensors weren't activated.. It was linked with the BCM, but its not reading anything at all (Reads 0 psi).

This is what happened today.

One of my tires was running a little bit flat, so I went ahead to check the tire, and it was under pressure (24-25psi). Then, it surprised me that even at 24-25psi, the TPMS did not trigger any kind of warning, so I got a friend to check on it. Turns out that all of my TPMS sensors was inactive.

I know that no one would purposely check if the TPMS was working or not when they first got the car, but since it happened to me, it could have happened to you too!

Just a heads up :)

Was your TPMS warning light on?

Well 24-25psi is not the normal +/- 5psi that the OEM sensor is set for. So at the required pressure (+/-5 psi), is the light on?

nope.

Light was not on when the tires were 35psi.
Light was not on when the tires were 24-25psi.

That's why I thought the TPMS was not working/activated.

i thought they are activated from the factory? How do you know they read 0 psi? There's no display for tire pressure.

TPMS sensors always transmit their signals (unless they're defective). They need to be initialized/married to the ECU. That's what I suspect is the issue for the op.

Checked with those TPMS tools (Such as Autel TS401, and other one, but forgot name), and also Nissan Consult III

Well they are married to the BCM (Body Control Module). The tools listed all 4 of their IDs, but isnt getting any readings from them.

Anyways, it was weird enough for the sensors not to trigger an error when the tire pressure was 24-25psi.
