Dealers Not taking anymore custom orders
Just called my dealer to follow-up on my 370z.
He told me that Nissan Canada is not taking anymore orders on the 370z to focus more production on the 370z Roadster. Some might said that's BS, but there's no reason for him to BS as I already purchased a car from him (maybe he wants me to feel special; which I doubt). He's trying to ask Nissan Canada to see what is going on. So don't be surprised that your dealer won't be taking anymore orders. Note: The 370z is still coming in, but custom orders are not being taken. Also, Sport Package for Canada is very limited, most 370z that are here doesn't have the Sport Package. |
i am talking to a guy right now and he said they are taking custom orders until june.
|
wait what? sport package isnt available? so what they sell just the base? or the base + touring? thats wierd... in cali all the cars are pretty much touring sports
|
Most of the cars in Canada now are just 370z with no sport package and some with nav.
|
Canada's base model is the touring option included. Options are sport and nav with some paint options.

I agree that you may still find ones on lots (or from existing unsold dealer orders) with base(touring) only or also with nav, but a fully loaded Canadian 09 370Z with nav and sport will probably be harder to find...I suspect not many were ordered that way. |
Got my order in before the cutoff  :happydance:
I suspected as much. Since Canada's 370Z production is roughly 10% of the USA predicted sales of 20,000 units (or whatever the latest projected sales figures are for the USA) that leaves only 2,000 units to be made in 2009 for Canada. Most dealers didn't know this until recently and have ordered what they think they can sell in the summer. Most are not ordering many at all, if any. I think a lot of buyers are going to have to wait till 2010 production runs to be able to order a 370Z coupe in Canada.:eek::eek: Unfortunatly, this is going to be proven sooner than I anticipated. I was suspecting a July order cutoff date, not a May cutoff. |
I can see the latest Canadian scam now in spam email: Special Order Your 370Z Through Us!

What some dealers won't do to make profits. |
I am getting mixed messages from the dealer. He now said he's still taking orders. He said there's no confirm news saying Nissan Canada is no longer taking orders.
Can't say I am not a little worried about my order (placed 1.5 months ago). Since then, I just got a piece of paper saying I made a deposit. And a word from the sales saying my car will be here in June. Want to know my VIN ASAP, so at least I know it's the correct color and options I ordered. How long does it normally take to get the VIN? |
i was just told by the GM of my dealership that the rumors about nissan cutting production of the 370z in Canada are absolutely true. i placed my order last monday, and at this point he is unsure if my order will be filled; he says he will have a definitive answer for me tomorrow, and i'll update the status at that time.
this f@%kin sucks!!! worst case scenario, i'll have to wait for the 2010... |
Just confirmed (again). No more custom order!
For those who want 370z, look around on the dealers lot. Most likely, Manual and NO SPORT PACK. End of Story... |
I think it really depends what dealer you go to or what city you are in. Locally in Calgary my dealer still has a few unsold 370Z (recently arrived) on the lot. Some of them include sport.

But so far, I haven't seen or heard that people in Toronto got their Z. (with or without SP). |
I feel pretty lucky to have received my car when I did. Brasso really came through for me. I hope everyone else's orders work out fine. As previously mentioned Brasso has a few unsold ones on their lot with the sport option. YamahaR6 and Matt2112 maybe your dealer(s) in Toronto can check out of province inventory and bring one in from another dealer in another location.
AB370Z you must be getting excited for your car. The wait will be worth it. You will have to let me know how you like the navi :) |

only thing is i'm having second thoughts about my color selection (white on frost) for two reasons: 1) my 350 was white, and i'm thinking a change would be nice. 2) i'm worried about maintaining the frost interior i'm thinking about changing to black on orange or blue on black... any suggestions?? |

I spoke with my local dealer about this issue today and asked how true the supply shortage is. He said that there are only about 250 370Zs coming to Canada and most of them have already been produced, so the chances of getting one built at the factory are extremely slim but said that there was an outside chance of it, but not for very long. He said the way that they try to meet a customer's order is by contacting every other dealer and trading their allotted cars to try and match people as best they can. If dealer A has a red and dealer B has a white, and A needs the white, he'll trade his red one over. When asking about what I would like, he needed to know my preferences on the options and two colour selections, from there he would try to fit my order as best as possible.
