Dealers & Test Drives (GTA)

Hi all,

I'm new around here, first post. I have loved the Z line for the longest time. I'd like a weekend sports car that I can have a lot of fun with. I LOVE the 09-11 370s.

Prob my favourite looking ride, inside n out. I have a lot of research to do, and I'm so glad I found this site.

Having never driving a 370 before, I'd love to go for some test drives. Is there any dealer or protocol that you guys would suggest. I'm not going to be buying for at least a year, but I need to actually drive the car to see if I actually love the experience as must as the aesthetics.

Thanks

Take a used one for a test drive. It'll have been broken in and you will get a better appreciation of the Z's potential. Oh, welcome to the forum.:tiphat:

When you go, be nicely dressed and if you have more then one, bring the nicer car. Dealerships are really bias about how you look when you want to test drive a sports car. I was shoked when they let me test drive one with no hesitation when i rode up on my bike.

IDZRVIT...where in Halifax do you live. I'm originally from Halifax. Right in Halifax, then moved to Timberlea, then Fairview then moved in with my gf on Spring Garden Rd.

Its funny you say that. The only Nissan shop i ever walked into (in my area) did just that. The guy actually cut down one of my cars, the one i drove in with. I will never go to that dealer for anything. What sales guy does that?

I actually have fun with clowns like this. I have good job, I operate machines that are a hell of a lot higher performance than any road car. The only 2 dealerships that have treated me great when i walk in dressed down, like i am on days off, was Mercedes and Porsche.

I would thing Nissan, with a $40K car would not be such morons.

yea its bs. The 2IC of my old security company had that issue, he drove his KIA to a porshe dealership and was seriously looking to buy one, asked to test drive one. They asked what car he drove, he told them and they said no. He went and got the bosses Viper GTS, came back and said "this is my other car" they said "ok lets go for a test drive" he said "nah im going to go buy a 09 Viper ACR down the road"

I understand that dealerships dont wont any person coming off the street just to test drive the car for ***** and giggles, but seriously..its bs. Thats why i was shocked as hell when i rode up on my bike and as im sitting on it, taking my helmet off the guy said "can i help you" and i said "i wanna test drive a 370z" ...no questions asked he said "sure, let me go get the keys and plates" as i was taking my gear off.

I'm not shocked at all. I expect that. Thats his job! I can see with a higher end Ferrari, or Lambo, or something that wont really be demo'd. But these cars are just products, from NISSAN, normal off the line cars. They sit in show rooms with Versas.

I drive a Smartcar to work. I love the little thing. It gets me there, it sits in a garage for 4 days at a time, and then takes me home. I'm not going to buy a 370Z to sit in a massive garage, unattended. The 370 is for the days off.

When i bring the smart to MB, they call me buy name, and have a car ready for me to take. Sometimes its a B or C class. No questions asked.

It's just beyond me, in this day, how any sales guy would have the stones to judge anyone based on what they drive in with... I would do exactly what your 2IC did, and send the car companies head office a nice letter.

Cheers

I've done those rides many, many times. Going down to Mahone Bay from Peggy's Cove is nice also. A lot of nice roads here in NS for riding as you know. Hope you talk her into it, Snakes.

I think I mentioned this before, remuster to the navy! Then you'll either end up in Halifax or Victoria. Both are great spots for biking.

Thought about it but i cant see my self being a Leading Seamen or Master Seamen..lol. Once the AVN Tech trade re-opens i might remuster to the air force, maybe get a posted in shearwater but iiunno. I was offerd a 4+ year posting to gagetown but i turned it down. As for now, we will see where the road takes me..lol.
