Vendor does not ship to Canada...

Just a heads up to Canadian owners...

Corner3Garage will not ship product to Canada at this time. Too bad cuz they sell some nice stuff too! Sad to see that we still have these kind of issues in today's market... :shakes head:

younter 01-26-2011 04:41 PM

I will rather let it shipped to my relative's house and then get it during holiday when I went to visit them

wheee! 01-26-2011 04:44 PM

Lucky you! :icon17:

Zat_Zuma 01-26-2011 04:48 PM

I could have told you that

Also VICTORxSE at speed element won't sell to Canadians either.

I have good intel on parts ...... PM me what your looking for and I can recommend some Canadian friendly shops.

I will honor all and any NDA deemed neccesary

wheee! 01-26-2011 04:52 PM

Lol, should have called you first Zat!

djpathfinder 01-26-2011 09:49 PM

Yup, I was going to mention about Speed Element too. They told me it's because there has been "an increase in Canadian credit card fraud lately". Even though I told them I have a US bank account and VISA card, and a relative with a US address, they chose to ignore my PMs on trying to accommodate them to do business. Whatever, small fry. Stillen (Josh) and Forged Performance (Ryan) are among two that are Canadian friendly and have been great to deal with.

PS...I'd be wary of Zat_Zuma...he never shares what he's up to for his car, but he wants the dirt on what everyone else is doing. ;) :stirthepot:

younter 01-26-2011 09:54 PM

hm..didnt know speed element would do that..

That is just plain mean. They obviously think we are too small a market to mean anything to them. I agree with you about Stillen though! Josh was very helpful and service was fast.

:roflpuke2: The trick is to go visit him in the Zat Cave and get a first hand look at all the secrety goodness!... :icon17:

Pat@SMM 01-27-2011 08:20 AM

+1 on Josh @ Stillen. NO problem what-so-ever from dealing with him.

However, I would suggest the following to vendors who doesn't take orders from Canadians because increase of frauds (I do these also with some of my internet businesses too)

- Ask for a photocopy (scanned or picture or whatever) of the front and back of a Driver's License, and the Credit card itself. (IIRC Josh @ Stillen asked me for this too, not a big problem for me)

- Accept money order, bank transfer, bank draft, etc. (Come on, you get your money first already, guaranteed not a scam)

Ignoring potential customers is bad for YOUR business. It ruins your reputation therefore lowers your potential profit. Don't judge ALL Canadians are frauds just because of a couple fraud transactions, which you may not have taken the necessary precautions on.

Just my 2 cents. Don't flame/bash plz.

PayPal speaks the universal language of commerce and provides security for both parties.

Not exactly. Paypal's protection is more on the buyer's side instead of the seller. Been there, done that.

Paypal's secure, but all these guys selling their own parts want the buyer to fork over the Paypal fees. That's BS.

IDZRVIT 01-28-2011 08:58 AM

I don't buy into the excuses US vendors use to not sell to us Canucks. They should just admit that they're too small of a business to do the extra paperwork for customs - and that isn't any big deal either. Fraud? Yeah, we're a bunch of shysters up here in the GWN and our friends to the south wouldn't think of considering credit card fraud!

Just say no

It's all part of the negotiations

But you are right when most people find the custom paperwork intimidating and most generally don't want to do it. Most UPS offices will help with the paperwork and it is painless. I've found with FedEx that it's prudent to complete your own paperwork and fax it to customs office. It makes the shipment much easier.

You could ship the parts to me. I will keep them under my deck until you get here to pick them up.

Certainly, I will also get you to pay for them so they will not know they are for Canadian customers... lol

It's too bad you don't have your Z anymore, otherwise feel free to test out Wheee!'s new parts. And don't feel bad about scratching them or curbing his new wheels...that way they don't look brand new when he cross the border back into Canada, and hence don't have to declare them. :stirthepot:

Always a thorn in your side. :eekdance:

TheGreatOne 01-29-2011 01:35 PM

Usually if they use USPS you can avoid Duties and taxes...so I always ask they use USPS

But even still, sometimes although its a good deal in the states, the extra shipping they charge way more than it needs to be, as if we're not on the same continent lol

I have a US address as this mail place right at the border Your Home or Office in the USA!|Border Mail Service

They sign for for UPS and FedEx Packages, so full address, its great :)

Nitrouz 01-30-2011 09:47 AM

For those of you on the West Coast, you can just ship parts to Point Roberts, WA. Then just go pick it up. It's about a 30 min. drive from downtown Vancouver. They charge $3 per package and they'll store it for 2 weeks. They also call/email you within 3 hours when your package arrives.

If it's something small, I can always help pick it up for you for those of you in edmonton or something, whenever I go down to pick up my stuff. I get a lot of stuff shipped there. I can then just mail it from Vancouver to you and all you pay for is shipping. Just another option.

Zat_Zuma 01-30-2011 09:48 AM

It's a nice option ..... thanks Nitrouz.
But personally, if it's something small, USPS can usually handle it and customs fees are reasonable enough.

Nitrouz 01-30-2011 11:27 AM

true, and honestly, anything you guys want, I can probably get it for you from different vendors and have them shipped directly to you. I have quite a few contacts in the industry...

Thanks Nitrouz! And make sure I get the same discounts as you too! :icon18:

wheee! 01-30-2011 02:33 PM

I think that Nitrouz should do a road trip to Zedmonton and show off his car this year.... :stirthepot:

and of course bring parts with him!

Zat_Zuma 01-30-2011 06:19 PM

He will have to have a semi-trailer loaded with goodies and maybe room for his car too :stirthepot:

wheee! 02-02-2011 10:59 AM

Send him your gas card Zat....! :stirthepot:

jazz 05-11-2011 03:44 PM

AMS can get anything you want! good prices too.
