Good Toronto Area Nissan Dealership
Anyone know of a Nissan dealership in the Toronto area that's honest and good to deal with? I'm thinking of taking my car to a different dealership to get oil changes, etc.
|
Willowdale Nissan. If you're taking it for service, talk to steve. He's a great guy.

Care to share the current dealership you're visiting?

Morningside Nissan. Haven't taken my car in for an oil change yet but the place seems shady and not trustworthy. I just want to take my car to some dealership for service where I have some faith in them, even if if means I have to travel some reasonable distance to get it done. The general new car sales manager is an idiot. When I discovered and brought to his attention that there was supposed to be a plastic for the flat tire (a feature found only on roadsters), he tried to convince me that it was only for the coupe. I even showed him the picture from the owner's manual where the car had no roof but he kept saying it's the picture of the coupe.

Likely too much of a drive for you - but I have had great service from Oakville Nissan. Quick clean and knowledgable - I am sticking with the Nissan reco'd oil - Ester. No it is not cheap - but I have waited along time for my Zed and a little extra cost to keep her in top shape is good. Almost one year old and 5000klm.

But I got my car from Avenue Nissan and they've been good, so I go back for service. I've had no issues with them to date and they're very polite. The only thing I dislike is the service hours. They don't open on weekends and they close pretty early on weekdays. |

As for Morningside, read my other thread for my opinion on them. |

I have got my car from Avenue Nissan as well; however, from my experience they are by far the worst Nissan dealer at least in GTA. Of course I got my car from them because of the deal I got, but the sales person I dealt with, with the name of Walter Sherman is completely incompetent and ignorant. He was not familiar with the car or any of its features at all and could not describe anything I asked him. This car is keyless, he started it and turned it off while in “Drive” position, once that happed he couldn’t figure out how to restart it or shift it back to “Park”. He will do anything to avoid offering a test drive or a so called courtesy car while your car is in service overnight despite promises before sales. The service staff are as unknowledgeable as he is. They did not know the difference between a standard and syntactic oil and arguing for 10 minutes that synthetic oil does not come as 5W30 hence not recommended for my car which is false, they do come as 5W30 and it’s just a matter of preference to use synthetic over standard and this has nothing to do with the type of car you drive. Anyways; I am not trying to push my opinions on anyone but I have other friends at work having similar experiences with Avenue Nissan. I would avoid this dealership all together either for sales or service and I hope Nissan Canada notices these shady dealers and takes action just because I think they have an excellent product in Nissan and it’s sad to see the experience of getting a new car ruined by these types of people. |
:iagree:
I agree we have a dealership here in Cambridge that is the same way, I am hoping they go under and let me take over!!!!!! lol! Gregg Vann Nissan in Cambridge - DO NOT GO THERE |
I think we should make a list of Nissan Dealerships we should avoid. What do you guys think? We should spread the word and give these shady dealerships a lesson to learn.

Sigh.......I now have to issue a failing grade to Oakville Nissan. When I picked up the Z last week, I thought to myself, "the tires look awefully low". But, because I was in a huge hurry, I just thought it was the look of the low profile tires and went on my merry way. About half way home, I noticed the low pressure light was on. Hmmmmm, maybe they are a bit low. Anyway, it's been sitting in the garage for a week while I've been away. So yesterday, I finally got a spiffy new pressure gauge and I checked the tire pressure. WTF? That can't possibly be right! No way! So I scurry back in the house to see if maybe I'm insane and Nitrogen doesnt read the same as air on a gauge! How could that be possible - pressure is pressure. But, I'm no scientist, so I better make sure. Read all sorts of stuff on the net, nope, nothing there. Get the instructions for the gauge, nope nothing there. So it appears nitrogen has zero effect on a digital gague. Hmmmmmm, so the gauge must be defective then. Back out to the garage and over to the winter beater, bang on - 35 PSI. OK, that's really weird. Over to the wifes car....32 PSI. WTF?? Back over to the Z......9.5 on 3 tires, 9.0 on the last.
Obvously, a mistake by the dealer and a step missed in the PDI process. Still to me, an inexcusable error that shows a complete lack of attention to detail on the part of their service people. I will not entrust my car to someone who makes such a mistake. Luckily, there is only 50km on the car and I caught it quick. Annoying as hell though when you consider that dealers charge for PDI. |
That sucks dude! That probably means that on the pre-delivery inspection where they take it on the road test they to had not realized that the tires were low! I would carefully go over your rims and make sure there is no damage what so ever! not even a little mark or put it back on them to replace them either under warranty or due to their F*** up!
Sorry to hear about another negative experience with a new purchased Nissan.....I wish I had the money or know how to own a dealership my service and sales would be 100% better then "The List" of bad ontario dealers....... hope u get to start enjoying your Z ASAP!!!! |
I've had good success so far with St Clair Motor Services on Dundas (3275). I bought there and the service guys seem to be good - acknowledging I've only had one service done there so far.

^St Clair is "ok" at best..
-Service Manager "Joe", is fairly knowledgeable, but that is where it ends... I had my '05 rev-up there to replace the motor, under the OC TSB. -Before the TSB was released, I had a few of the employee's try convince me that my OC issues were normal, :icon18:, and that's what I should expect from a high performance engine.. Thankfully, the service manager knew exactly what I was talking about and agreed that it was def a problem. -I was one of the very first to have my engine swapped with the canadian TSB. They also scratched two of my limited edition Volk Ti-Gunmetal rims.. But after a short discussion (I had detailed pics of my ride just before it went in to the dealership, with time stamp + News paper), they decided that it was there error and paid to have my rims repaired.. -only real bonus was that they did not charge me to install my aftermarket clutch and flywheel. |
Wow 9-9.5 PSI on tires.. you can consider yourself pretty lucky that nothing happened..
And all this time I thought Audi dealerships are bad enough (Such as Uptown Audi, DONT BUY FROM THEM if anyone of you plans to get an Audi) |

Good Nissan Dealership
Having in mind that no dealership is perfect, I changed from Avenue Nissan to St. Clair Nissan for servicing, so far they are not bad considering my car is new and I just go there mostly for oil change, but for many the courtesy is important. People in general don't have a problem to pay to keep their cars in good condition, it's the nonsense and constant BS and attitude of the employees that causes problem. If you have a bad experience with a dealership, make a list and post it and avoid them. For me I would avoid Avenue and Scarborough Nissan at all costs, I will recommend St. Clair Nissan.
