I would disagree that it's a steal. The car is over a year old (model year) and almost two in a few months. Even though it has never been sold, it's still depreciating while it sits on the lot.

The dealer may as well come clean on this vehicle and flog it as a scratch 'n dent sale.

this kind of story pisses me off

every single sales persons at dealerships are scammers!!!

No, not all of them. But there are some.......

I bought a "slighly used sales demo" Ford Fiesta back in the day when I was young and stupid. The OWNER of the dealership lied to me stating "This is the finest used Fiesta you will find". After the sale I noticed a repainted area. Too late at that point, "buyer beware".

moral of story: I bad-mouthed that dealer for two decades. They went out of business last year, just as Ford sales were surging. What goes around comes around. :icon17:

Now if that could happen to Erickson Nissan in Edmonton, I would indeed feel vindicated :happydance: Sometimes karma takes awhile to come back around and sometimes, not soon enough :icon17:

They had a cash deal price for the car posted inside of their dealership but they wouldn't honor it saying that the deal has expired. For a 2009 car the price should be going down not back up and if the deal is expired then they should take the price off the wall - so I left the dealer. They called me a week later saying that they can give me my asking price ($38.5K) but when I showed up they tried to raise the price again to ($41K). I live on the other side of the city and so was not happy that they did this to me. Also throughout the negotiations they kept telling me that they had several other customers wanting to make an offer and that I should hurry. This is the worse dealership I've ever been to.

Who was the sales person you dealt with?

Yup! And he was there the whole time telling me how great I was gonna look in that new car.

And I agree - not all cars sales people are bad. I'm just about to conclude a deal with Oakville Nissan, I pick up the Z tomorrow. I couldn't be more pleased with the way I was treated by them. I would recommend that dealer and my sales person - Paul Malysa - to anyone!

It was at least 3 years ago.. You can prob find it by searching for "morningside nissan"..

Breakdown
-Owner took his z there for some minor work.. When he went to pick up his z, he was told that it was stolen out of the garage, they went onto explain that someone must have taken the keys from the storage box inside the dealership.....
Because the parts on the z were so rare (JDM tyte!), they weren't able to chop it up and part it out. All the local owners stirred up a sh*t storm on his behalf...
-The cops found the z out of the blue, about 3 weeks after..

Stay away from that stealership...

Did they find out who stole the car? Was it an inside job?
