AMUSE R1000 single exit exhaust review

Hey guys,
I just installed R1000 exhaust from amuse.
This exhaust is single exit exhaust constructed using titanium.
It weighs roughly around 13lb.
When I was placing an order with AMUSE head office located in Tokyo, Japan, I was told that this exhaust is very loud and circuit use only.
However I kind of knew how loud this exhaust would be due to straight flow design, so proceeded ordering with them.
The delivery took exactly 14 days from the date of payment was made.
Today, I went to customs to clear my duties and taxes so that my shipment could be picked up from a warehouse located a block away from the customs.
I paid US$1800 for the exhaust(including airfreight to Vancouver airport) + $150 for the duties and taxes(13% tax here in British Columbia) + $180 for the installation(charcoal filter had to be removed from its original location and then relocated to the center of the vehicle and this process required custom made bracket.. the guy at the shop literally created a state of art bracket).
Video clips will further explain what the exhaust is like..
The first clip is first start after installation.
The second clip is revving up to 4000rpm after properly warmed up.
The last clip is revving up to 5000rpm outdoor to get the actual loudness of the exhaust.
My camera is kind of crappy for taking videos..
This exhaust sounds very unique, somewhat exotic AND LOUD.
Please enjoy and tell me your opinions :tiphat:

That's a sweet exhaust man!

Will you be posting anymore videos? Maybe drive by's and interior drive shots?

Overall how do you like it so far? Do you feel there's a big difference that's worth $2K

Snakes709 04-24-2010 10:08 AM

sorry but im not a fan. I'm not a fan of loud exhaust systems, that plus the fact your rear valace has a spot for 2 exhaust tips and now you only have one so it looks kinda gay.

Thanks dude
The difference is clearly noticable since it shredded so much weight + a lot less restrictive design...
I will post some drive shots soon, but gotta find a place to really step on the gas.

You don't need to be sorry dude :(
I find it kind of funny that you're not a big fan of loud exhaust systems but have ricer mods of 5% Tint, Blacked out head lights, Tinted Tail lights, 8000K HID, Chromed amber turn signals,,, EH?
People have different opinions on different things, I know that.
BUT it's not very nice to call someone elses car gay.
YOU're the gay one for doing those ricer mods to your car + talking **** about other person's car. At least I don't do that douche bag stuff. :(
Cheers,

Alex

Sorry, bad wording on my part. The term gay was abit harsh. However, i wasnt "talking ****" about others cars". I'm stating my opinion. If you do a mod and want comments, be prepaired to recieve both positive and negitive comments in return. And what i do to my car is what i like, just like what u do to your car is what you like. Two different styles doesnt mean its wrong, we may not like each others styles but who cares, im not driving your car and your not driving mine. And i highly doubt changing your light bulbs and tint is a ricer mod. If thats the case, pretty much every car on the road, even family mini vans are rice cuz they all have tint. The term "ricer" is so over used. And it makes me laugh that you are using it.

molamann 05-13-2010 07:20 PM

Nice, you should get some videos up with better mic setup asap. I don't know about Canada's decibel law but that **** sure won't fly down here in Cali. :D

The exhaust sounds so sick!! I bet you piss off you neighbors like no other! :roflpuke2:

One question, how'd you order directly from Amuse; usually they don't talk to international customers directly. Also, by the way, they're not in Tokyo.

Jordo! 11-17-2011 01:38 AM

Ever dyno...?

too bad you dont have your Z anymore alex. would have liked to hear that exhaust in person. Are you planning on putting a similar sound for exhaust on your 1M?

litespeed 11-17-2011 06:29 PM

That Amuse single exit set up is sick!! I have a dual exit full titanium exhaust, with straight pipe/no rear mufflers, and it is loud, but not that loud. Did you ever get hassled by the police?
My set up is about 14 pounds, and I agree with you, that the weight reduction makes a big difference.

awkwardturtle 11-23-2011 01:15 AM

Just curious, what does the stock exhaust weigh in at?

Are you trying to advertise you products in this guy's thread?

indirectly I believe so...

Fast Intentions Carbon Fiber Muffler Cat Back Exhaust 12 Inch Resonators - YouTube

I really can't care anymore lol
I bought the exhaust, had it on for quite a long time, had fun with it, lots of compliments, I sold the exhaust for $1500.
AND I sold the car like 3 months ago.

I personally really liked the exhaust note except it being a little too loud that I couldn't use it on regular track day @ mission raceway due to their weekdays noise level regulation set at 95dB so I had to let it go.
Anyways, to answer your question, NO. I'm going to shred some weight, moton coilovers, set of track wheels, Hoosier R6, bucket seat, bolt on roll cage, brake upgrade first to see if I can keep up with GT3 RS in the Group A. If I can't, I'm going to get Akrapovic full titanium and some good ECU tune.

for those of you who's gonna decide to be an ignorant **** and say "1 //M is no where close to GT3 RS... yadah yadah and I never been to a track nor I will never go to track because I'm too pussy to race legally with real men, instead, i video tape my highway pull all night and street race riced out civics and neons driven by highschool kids!!". The racetrack I take my car occasionally is a relatively small track with lots of technical corners and even supercharged miata can run side to side with GT3 RS.(driver matters too, but yeah). :roflpuke2:

^^^ pic of BMW 1M???

VancouverZ34 12-06-2011 05:03 AM

still on a boat

kevin.z 02-13-2012 02:21 AM

I would buy resonated Amuse r1000 single exit when I get 370z again.

It is obvs not for everyone. We are talking about hardcore function over form lol. This exhaust is for someone who prefer 18' rims over 20' and gutting the trunk to save weight. The weight savings alone, imo, is worth it. 10lbs vs 60lbs of Stillen CBE?

Just saying.

litespeed 03-01-2012 10:48 AM

was yours resonated or non resonated in the video?

Has the 1M landed yet?

VancouverZ34 03-02-2012 12:44 AM

R1000 is hollow titanium pipe that doesn't have any resonator or muffler.
Yes, i got the 1M back in January 12th.
