Recent purchase 09’ 370Z

Hey everyone, my name is Clayton, I’m from Campbell River BC.
I have been looking through the forum for months and was finally and happily admitted as a new member..
I bought this ‘09 Touring Sport in August from a dealer in Burnaby BC.
It had been traded in on a GTR by someone from Winnipeg.
The car was garage kept, appears to have never been driven in the rain, 38,000km with some carbon accents, H&R 2" lowered springs, Niche 20” wheels and Injen catback, it looked like it had come of the showroom floor.
I'm looking for more information on it if anyone is familiar with this car.

welcome and congrats, looks nice
and remember the Z likes to run

Jordis 01-21-2020 05:56 PM

Thank you.

Unfortunately where we live running nets a 30 day impound plus fees, hundreds of dollars in fines and long licence suspension.

Although I can’t find a law that says I can’t accelerate the **** out of it off stop lights :rofl2:

Its stored until April but I enjoyed the 2.5 months I got to drive it

Nice buy, 23.6k miles in 10 years, this was a garage queen and car looks really good. Enjoy!

It’s still shiny underneath.
I inadvertently came across it, I was going to the dealership to meet my brother who has a friend who works there, I was in no way looking for a car of any kind, when we saw it on the lot my 14 year old Jordis (I stole his name for my username) started salivating as much as I was LOL!!
3 days later I bought it with plans he buy it from me when he turns 17.
I’m too poor to give it to him LOL!!

So far I’ve removed the steering lock fuse and broke the fuel door pin.
I would really like to track down the previous owner, I have questions

Not a scuff on either sill plate.

The dealer didn’t detail it, it came in this clean.

Once again I post, then get a message it will be moderated before becoming visible..

Any idea why this happens?

I think you have to have like 10 posts to post images. Honestly, I'm surprised your pictures show up in your first post. Maybe Trips happened to be online to see the request. Should go away soon.

That's a lucky find. Congratulations :tiphat:

The car is parked for the winter since I am going to try as best I can to make sure it's a sunny day only ride so not much to post or ask until May 1st.
I drove it once on the road with calcium chloride down for the ice, only 1 mile of road barely damp with the crap, by the time I drove the temps outside had warmed up but it was enough to start attacking the aluminium on the engine, pretty pissed at myself as I was trying to keep it off of the crap..

Congrats on the Z, Clayton, it's a very very nice found!!

for a 2009, first thing I suggest you to do is pull the fuse of the steering-lock.

Jordis 01-24-2020 07:01 PM

Thank you.
That was the first thing I did when I got it home.
I had read about that before I bought it.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum bud. Treat the car well and she will treat you well. Mine is a 2010 and had 39,000 km when I grabbed her. Fuse lock was the first thing I did as well haha! If you're going to track get a oil cooler. Also, if I were you change all the fluids (Transmission, Oil, power steering and brake) unless the changes have already been done.
