Hold your position, be firm, do not get confrontational and do not back away until you are satisfied. Make the time to get this settled. +1 on this. If there is no action done on their part for their crappy service I won't touch them with a ten foot pole. Funny, I was thinking about going to them for the bushing, but went with RPM as per your suggestion. Also was going to go get an oil, brake, power steering and coolant job done from them. Guess not.

Update: Mike called me about 25 min ago now. Here is a quick summary of how the conversation went.... Turns out mike had also read the forum review of my experience way before i even mentioned it. more on that below.

I calmly told him i was unhappy with the amount of money i paid for incomplete work and he replied that it was my fault and on me that i left incomplete... He went on about how he was willing to fix everything under warranty but that i chose to take the car out the very last day when it was supposed to be complete.... I then told him it'd be normal for any customer spending upwards of 2000 to not want to them to touch my air-ride anymore and that any person would lose the confidence of everything going smoothly. The air-ride is worth 5k do i really want to give them another chance to mess something else up after they had already ruined 2 perfectly good bags?

He then mentioned that he doesn't know why im calling nor does he know what im looking for. He also went on to say that i cant have it "both ways" and that i "burned that bridge" when i decided to post my review on the forum.. I told him i was just being hones with my experience .He said i should have called him before i posted my review and maybe he would do something for me.... I replied and tried to tell him that i indeed gave him an opportunity to do so ... but he kept talking over me so he didn't care to hear it... Soo anyway... at this point im thinking... he read the review... and still didn't try to contact me to fix it? but waited for my call anyway... By this point you can hear it in Mike's voice hes agitated about the entire situation so i asked him to calm down but he kept talking over me..... then i repeatedly said "Mike, am i not talking to you calmly?" but he disregarded that also.. and at this point mike is just talking over me regardless of what im saying care and once he finished talking he said bye and hung up...

Well...... all in all.. this is my experience... Its my fault really..... i should of took my car out the first day mike was arguing and name calling another customer.... But... all the "reviews" on whitehead make them sound so amazing i disregarded it as a one off situation.. I'll let you guys know if anything changes, if Mike wants to make good he can call me cause hes was already following the review anyway so im sure he will read this now too..

I do my work at a shop closer to home...

Read above: that is very unfortunate how that came to. Personally in my experience when effort is made after the wrong (even with a negative review) is to make whole so the negstive reviewer can also speak to that to. Anyways.... i hope you get your car fixed up so you can get her back on the road

scope22 06-28-2019 01:08 PM

Yea you ****** up. If someone does bad work you don't take the car, let them make it right otherwise they can claim that another shop caused issues. Don't post a review till you're 100% done with them.

Hey Nix. Yes I was very happy with their pricing and the staff is very friendly and professional. They are pretty busy, so if you need your car back in a jiff just ask them how long it will take, they will be honest with you.

I dropped my car off, walked to Dufferin station and took the subway back home, worked out for me in that sense. Also check your In Box.

So you're unhappy, call him out on the workmanship on his shop and he snaps? Yeah. No. In addition, he reads the review, instead of making a lasting impression on you (on us) he continues to not admit the workmanship was terrible and doesn't own up to even giving back half of the cash you spent. What does he expect after a terrible experience? That you would sit there in a corner and not do anything about it? Cool. I'm sure he's aware this is the 21st century and a bad review online travels at the speed of light and that every individual has the right to post their reviews. If he wanted you to take back what you said, which is all factual and true, he would make amends with you, which in return would cause you to come back here and re write the review talking about your new found positive experience. Instead he stands there, talking over you, and said if you called him he'd "maybe" do something.

He's the one trying to have it both ways. Not wanting a bad review while doing a poor job. Automatrix, RPM & T&T Auto are all wonderful shops that do quality work at a fair and quality price. After your experience, I will not be stepping in WHP for any work for my Z nor would I recommend them to any of my buddies. That's just the nature of the beast these days, there are so many options on who and where you can go to get work done for your car. Regardless I heard great things about WHP, by no means is this slandering, but let's be real, when you try something or someone new, you read reviews, first. I met you in person and know you're a solid stand up guy who would not write a negative review as a way of revenge or slander. Sorry this happened to you bud. I hope you find the shop that does right by you.

+1 for RPM. I can vouch for them personally. Truly a good bunch of people.. people working there are family/friends and they are honest. They wont bs you with anything, the only shop i trust with my car.. period. Should you decide to give them a shot, tell them Brian sent you, they'll know & will take care of you.

A 2 day job that turned into a 2-3 week mess with a bunch of issues for overpriced work that came out seriously flawed and to think it could of been much worse with more serious consequences should i not of noticed sooner... with that in mind and after all the problems.. you'd seriously let them continue to work on your car and keep it there? I guess we both differ there.. but I can agree on the review thing :P

Honestly, i just wanted to give people an honest review in hopes someone actually reads it and might save themselves the headache. I need to stop going to places based on rumored reviews of people i don't know personally, because based on their reputation... this should of never happened and definitely should of never ended the way it did...

I would do what you did, I would get my car/baby out of there. It's like sending your child to a school that's teaching radical ideology, would you leave your kid there? Hell no. "Hey, you're already doing a shitty job, but how about you give my money back and continue doing said shitty job?" No, I'll pass. Instead of loosing $2000 they've lost their reputation and morethan that $2,000 in the future

You have every right to. You have no reason to feel guilty and or bad. You work hard for your money and on top of that trust is something you can't put a price on.

LOL @ Simone performance. I am NOT driving to Newmarket from Toronto for a oil change haha! Strange their reviews on Google are "stellar" want to share your experience with them? Same with APH? Never heard of them but oh well.

Yes, Automatrix and RPM are the only two shops I will EVER step foot in with my Z. Professional, honest, quality jobs, respectful of your time and of course great atmosphere. I use to go to AM when they were located in North York, Markham is a bit out of my jurisdiction hence why I don't go, but if I was close I would go.

Simone performance - few year back they couldn't get my supercharged Z (it's twin turbo now) running after spending thousands of dollars at the shop and them telling me excuses after excuses, turned out one vvel motor was shot at that was it. On top of that, apprentices work on your car not experiences mechanics like you would think.

Advanced powerhouse - Owner Bryan, complete garbage. Again Z was supercharged at the time, first incident, driving back from his shop on 401, wiring got caught on supercharger belt somehow (they left it lose in the engine bay) and cut wiring harness and car just dyed on me. No brakes no nothing, i had to tow it back to his shop.
Another incident (should have learned first time) I pick up the Z from his shop, drive it home to notice my rear carbon fiber bumper has a crack like somebody backed into something. I called him up and said man, whats going on here, I have pictures right before i took the car to u and now i got a crack , he called me a liar and trying to avoid paying.

Automatrix and RPM are the only shops I would walk into as well!

Hey Mike!

Savage:stirthepot:

Honestly, not worth mentioning the name anymore unless it comes up in a discussion. All is said and done after the punches have been exchanged.

However we should all state places of bad experiences or rip-offs within the GTA in this thread.

When I was getting my differential bushing quotes, APEX motoring was charging me $500. I got a quote from RPM ahead of $285 already but was told by a friend to call them up. When APEX told me $500 I had snot blow out of my nose. I even said "$500? Really? What are you charging me for? I have my own part I need the labor done, that's max three hours with the shop tools". I got the "No its complicated we have to do this and that blah blah".

However, you have to be careful, you have to understand the relationship between what you pay and the quality of work and you can only find this out by reviews/personal experience of others. Like I said, Automatrix (Markham), RPM (Toronto) and T&T Auto (Mississauga) are the GOAT for the Z in my opinion.

Sadly no, Not a single call or email from Whitehead Performance to rectify the mess.

The differential bushing is a 2-3hr job... 500 including parts and diff fluid isnt crazy.

I stand by what i said about the online shop... easy to deal with and get the parts. Really sucks about the shop portion
