Looking for exhaust

I'm interested to know if anyone local is selling their exhaust or thinking about it. If you are just send me a msg, preferably fast intentions or ark.

I was in the same position a few months ago. Going to be tough to find these here in TO. I pulled the plug and ordered a new FI CBE.

My FI rear section (mufflers only) will be for sale once the replacement canisters arrive in June. They're still functional, but I lowered my car too much and the bottom of the mufflers got dented.

Nixin what did that end up running you after conversion?

mishuko 05-04-2016 10:32 AM

goodluck getting the exhausts... new they are expensive due to FX+shipping.

I paid in USD, $300 USD deposit for now. Plus remainder the week before it ships out. Hopefully the Loonie will be stronger in July, when the FI CBE is scheduled to ship. Honestly, I also considered going the used route. I just couldn't bring myself to putting on used components onto a brand new Z. Kevin at FI was a great guy to deal with. I think when you are doing something of this magnitude, might as well do it right.

Yeah, same here. I can't put used parts on my car. But yes, Kevin is great with customers. He was very helpful when I reordered my FI mufflers.

How much are you paying in total including shipping? I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

$1,320 for the FI SS 18" res. cbe PLUS $155 for shipping, all in USD. I am not certain what the final charge will be once I pay import duties.

Damn! Thanks for the response.

Have you asked around at all to see if any local shops might have them in the GTA? I'm trying to avoid the USD exchange and customs since I have to consider installation fees as well...Also don't wanna bother the same people if you've asked around already either =X

www.kinek.com

will help you save on shipping/capitalize on free shipping for some places. It gives you a USA postal address then you drive state side to pick it up once it arrives.

I have used it many times. If you are <2hours from the boarder it can be very worth while!

Solidandre 05-15-2016 11:21 PM

Hmm might be worth it I'm about 50 mins from Niagara Falls

Lemme know how big the package is. I have a friend in Chicago that I can ship to if its free and he has his own business that will eat up the shipping to Canada.

FI builds per individual order. No one, and I do mean no one in the GTA or anywhere in Canada, stocks the FI cbe systems. Do yourself a favour, order the FI cbe asap. The longer you diddle, the more time that passes. Remember, these guys are super busy, the wait time is quite long. However, the quality of the workmanship and that symphonic exhaust sound is well worth the wait time and the price.

My time, plus fuel used plus wear and tear on the vehicle, is worth more to me than the $100 or so I will spend on shipping. Remember, you still have to clear Canadian customs when you are returning from the US. You will pay customs fees regardless.

That's where we differ then. I don't mind the road trip plus normally I am picking up multiple items. So more savings. The wear and tear doesn't bother me either my cars are here to be driven and I drive them hard! There's a reason I am on my 4th set of rear tires on my Z.

As for customs. Just tell them what you want, that is between you and the officer. But honestly I have not had to pay duties on lots of parts. Just depends on the officer and or what you tell them. Most time I have been able to say it was used parts. Or tell them your bringing parts back into the country from a big Z meet. I tell them they were my parts I brought down and was trying to sell at the meet and these are what's left, couldn't t sell etc. They normally just wave me through.

LMBmikeZ 05-16-2016 12:10 PM

O also when a shipping company brings packages cross boarder for you they like to charge you up the assssss for duty fees or brokerage fees on top of the duties.

That's a good thing, that we all differ. Life wouldn't be as interesting if we were all the same. I work for a large US based firm with branch offices all over the world. I travel often and I would not take a chance by not declaring any purchases made in the US. It takes just one time to get caught and black listed on the Canadian and US database and you are screwed in more ways than you could figure on. Better to pay a bit more and have peace of mind than wondering if I will be allowed to enter the US or have a deep cavity search performed the next time I am crossing back into Canada. No way, no how!
