Hey, it looks really nice! Is it possible for you to link me the necessary equipment/parts I need? I thought a double din kit was needed for these? I have a head unit in mind already and is also pioneer. Thanks!

You don't need a double din kit, you simply re-use the brackets that are currently installed on your stock radio. You do need a wire harness though:

You'll also need the antenna adapter.

Oh that's right, i forgot. Also, if you want, get a mini-usb to usb adapter. That way you can connect the usb wire that goes from your mid-console to the new Pioneer deck

I had an installer put the HU in,he said the double din kit WAS needed.I suppose it's possible to do without the kit,but to me that looks like it would be a real hassle trying to install without it.

Thanks. I'll probably just order a double din kit just in case then. I was gonna bring it to a shop instead of DIY too.

I'll chime in a little, If you have BOSE then you'll need the double din dash kit.
If you have the base, then you won't need a double din dash kit!

zefaulter has kindly listed the different types out at the link above.

Not sure why it would be any trouble or hassle. You literally re-use the oem brackets. Thats weird

If your car has bose headunit then you'll need a dash kit.

You could very well be correct,I'm just going by what my installer said, but if the aftermarket and stock base HU have the same mounting points then it should be fine.

Looking to install my own head unit in my base model myself (no experience with this stuff). Just to confirm, all I need is:

-a double din head unit
-370z wiring hardness
-antenna adapter (what is this for)?

Do I need anything else to ensure the steering wheel controls work, or does the wiring harness take care of that?

Also I'm looking at install a AVH-X2800BS. Any thoughts/experience with this one? I just want BT smartphone connectivity (for music and calls) and a screen for reverse camera.

probably best to go to the audio section... got some helpful people there

That's it, except the steering wheel control, you'll need either the Maestro or AWSC-1. I have 1 (AWSC-1) that stopped working on mine after a FW update on my deck, fine without the steering wheel controls.
