Z1 akebono sport brake upgrade

Here's the kit I am interested in.. Z1 Akebono Sport Brake Upgrade Package (Front & Rear)

I have a 2009 base model 370z. I'll be needing new brakes and rotors all the way around when I pull the car out for summer. What do people think of this kit for a small upgrade for a daily driver that will not be seeing a racetrack? Is there anything someone else could recommend for a brake upgrade on all four wheels for under about $2500?

If you aren't tracking why bother upgrading? The stock ones work fine and cost $2500 less.

The Z1 package is decent, but i did crack their 1 piece slotted rotors at the track

I would recommend SS brake lines and better pads and call it a day.

Agreed. better bang for the buck. Throw in some new fluid too. And if you really want to improve brake performance get some good tires.

Both will improve brake feel and performance -- period, whether or not they offer as much stopping power as the BBK's with (or without) similar upgrades.

On that note, will the bigger calipers even fit with the base 18's...? I thought not. So now he's in for wheels, brakes, etc.

I'd do lines, pads, and with money to burn, ultra light 18's and sticky tires over larger brakes that need larger wheels (and thus tires as well) just to fit.

I got this kit from Z1 and love it... I drive really agressive on the street and attend track and autocross events. Its a night and day diffrence... But if your not driving your car hard I would just get the SS lines and call it a day...

the stock akebono brakes are great, same as the ones on the link....if you have the money I would say go for it, you will notice the difference even if you don't track plus better stopping power on the street is good too...and they will fit your 18" stock wheels but you will need to change your spare from a 17" to an 18" spare similar to the one in the sports package Z
