Can you powdercoat akebonos without disassembling?

I've been reading the last few days on whether or not I have to disassemble my brakes and remove the seals and piston when I powder coat my brakes.

It seems like a mixed set of answers on some people doing it and others saying the seals and pistons can handle the heat because It gets that hot under normal driving conditions any ways.

Has anyon powdercoated their brakes and NOT disassemble and just tape/block off the areas?

Thanks!

I would think the seals wouldn't be able to handle the heat. Mike here is the resident powder coater who alot of guys have calipers done by. His website is THEPOWDERCOATER.COM | About Us

you can, but its not ideal. the seals can handle the heat no problem, and just about every car with dust boots also hold up, but the OEM dust boots on these calipers will weaken with heat.

The main reason to disassemble them though is for stripping and ensuring no blast media gets inside of them and they are perfectly clean inside when finished.
