Z1 Urethane motor mounts

Specs on my car:
Every bolt on
7AT

That being said, as many of you know, my motor was out for a loooong time. And since I DD my car I decided to get Z1's urethane mounts not the solid ones.

After install and I got the car back the GTR tech said that I WILL notice the difference in vibration.

When I went for a drive I was too happy to get my car back to notice anything really. Now that I've had it on for a month or so of straight DD, here are my thoughts:

If you had a manual, you WOULDN'T notice ANY increase in NVH, and in the auto, I ONLY notice vibration at a stoplight, and I bet if I had the OEM pulley, the difference wouldn't even be as much.

Now, while ACTUALLY driving, you feel the snap of everything working and really being bolted to the chassis and bolted to the driver. There is less of a lag from pedal down to car moving forward.

Again, now that you guys all have the Z1 Black Friday sale upon you, call John@Z1 and tell him "Andrew the ásshole" sent you. He's a straight shooter, and won't sell you BS you don't need

Yes, the trans mount is easily installable, and the engine mounts are a bit more of a pain to install.

I CAN break your car in a lot less time, don't worry, but I usually don't drive other peoples' cars hard, but you can drive mine as god damn hard as you want

G37sHKS 11-28-2013 06:11 AM

I have both transmission and engine mounts from Z1, highly recommended.

I didn't even notice a vibration difference at a stoplight, but then again maybe I wouldn't notice, I don't know. I'm rarely at a stop and in-gear, either. The rest is basically the same as I felt - you're definitely more-connected. I'd do the trans mount at the same time as well, it's all good stuff, and the trans mount can be done with jacks+jackstands and a couple wrenches, it's not hard at all.

I'm interested in both mm and trans mount. I had mm on my b15 spec v and it created VERY noticeable increase in nvh. Wife hated it but it was a dramatic improvement in feel.

Is the consensus that the z1 mm/trans mount don't noticeably increase vibrations etc?

If you have an auto, and you come to a stoplight in drive. You will feel it, if you have a manual, I DOUBT you'd feel any NVH difference, ever

I'm sold! Lol. I'm talking to the wife about them now and she just said she's still skeptical. That means in a few weeks I'll have her convinced.

If it makes you feel better, I also had motor mounts on my b15 spec v from Travis (FI racing) that were some type of solid material. Those were super rough. I had solid mounts on my 350z and it was nothing like the sentra. It was noticeable, mostly due to the solid transmission mount, but wasn't bad at all. It was mostly noise more than vibration.

These shouldn't be bad from my experience with solid in the 350 and from what these guys are saying. I plan on getting these for my 370 in the near future.

All of the mounts are included in the sale, not just the motor mounts.

I have the engine and transmission mount for my 7AT and everything the A$$hole said is spot on. I think that my Fast Intention exaust system causes more vibrations...

I highly recommend this mod if anyone is on the fence about it.

You have a race car, you don't mind NVH! Lol

SPOHN 11-30-2013 03:22 PM

Love mine also. Plus I have everything SPL makes. Car is stiff. You can tell just by pushing it around the yard.
