Question for ya guys, name that part!

Hey guys, recently installed some coilovers on my car and noticed something missing on my car. My car's suspension was switched out by the previous owner and it seems like they forgot to put back a piece. I don't what's it's called but seems like it is the top mount spacer for the front suspension? Here are some photos I took.

This is the driver side, triangular spacer inside the engine bay for the top mount.

Passenger side, missing triangular piece? I know that it was there before because of the left over silhouette of the part?

I know that it important if Nissan put it there, what the correct name of this part? I've searched but no luck? Currently I have heavy duty washers to replace it for now. Any help on this appreciated. Thanks!

Courtesy Nissan's parts web site has a lot of exploded diagrams that are very handy for jobs like this.

you're also missing the nuts too?

not sure wat it's called either (strut tower reinforcement?) but it's used on both sides.

Naw, that was before I put back the nuts on. How important is this. Makes me think I was driving like this for a year??!?

Its to distribute the load better over the relatively thin metal that the strut bolts to. Id say if you were driving it like that for a year and nothing bent then just order up another one and in the mean time take it easy on it. One good bang and it could try and bend where the strut attaches to the body.

It looks heavy enough that it's probably very important. kenchan's "strut tower reinforcement" ought to be close to the name. Before replacing, I'd make a very through inspection of the tower and the top of the strut for cracks or other damage.

I checked it, inside and out. No damage or bends. I compares it with the other side. Going to Nissan today to see what they have.

Here is the part that looks like what you are talking about.

If you want cheaper OEM parts this is the place to go.

I thought is was that part. But it seems that, that is the rubber spacer between the top mount and to the body of the car. Here is the link to diagram off the site. The same diagram Nissan gave me. The part manager assured me that the part was meant for vibration purposes. They had an mechanic check it out and no damage was done with out it. Finds out that only one dealership has this part, somewhere in PA. They have it on back order for me. Just need to wait now. If anyone is interested here is the link part #64190p. Piece costed me 32 bucks! Haha

 I would have never thought to check under Hood Ledge & Fitting. My first instinct was suspension. Good to hear you found what you needed.
