Whatever BBK you go with, I strongly suggest getting pads with great initial bite. I have 370Z Sport brakes on my 350Z as well, but with Hawk pads, braided steel lines, and slotted rotors. The difference is very noticeable--even in normal daily driving.

This is a good point. Too many people go too aggressive on pad choice. They figure "I'll just get the more aggressive one since it'll hold up better if I ever track it". The problem is that initial bite. A lot of the more aggressive pads only work well once you get some heat into them. You may find yourself sailing right through the first stop sign on your morning commute.

I agree. Aside from looking prettier, you really don't gain a whole lot of stopping performance from upgrading if you never plan to really wring out the Z. If you're like me and just want the look, the Akebonos are the only economical option. Unless you can find a used set dirt cheap, I'd just save up for a new and complete set from Z1 or any other vendor.

With that said, if you do plan to get a bit more aggressive for something like AutoX, I'd skip the Akebonos entirely and go for something with a bit more bite from the start. Don't be surprised at the price tag though.

I had really aggressive pads on my GST Eclipse years ago. You know, the carbon ceramic, laced with adamantium, or whatever. Those things were horrible. I literally hit a few things, my neighbor's napping dog included (he lived), while pulling out of the driveway. I believe I bought Hawk HPS pads for the 350Z. The fact that there was virtually zero brake dust was a huge plus.
