anyone else go thru 2 sets of tires in 20k miles?

ive gone thru my second set of rear tires with only 20k miles on the car. i know there is a negative camber but that cant be the only reason. anyone have any thoughts. its only the inside that has metal showing rest of the tires r perfect. im thinking of changing the suspension all together cause its pissing me off every year i gotta get new tires

Are you running the stock tires? I heard from another owner that they had replaced the rear tires a couple of times already.

Did you get an alignment after you lowered it? Are both front and rear wearing the insides out?

Camber and toe are off. Buy camber arms and toe bolts, install and align. Problem solved.

We got <10K miles on the stock rears (not from alignment problems, either - I have a 5 yr alignment agreement for the car and get it done every quarter). In addition to that, they absolutely suck in wet weather. Since it's a DD, I solved both of those problems by switching to Nitto Invos - I get 20K miles or more out of the rears and much better wet weather performance.

Damn I managed to get 25,000 miles on my stock Yokohama Advan sport tires on Nismo wheels. Something is seriously wrong with your suspension or your right foot.

I got an idea for you to save money on tires.... switch to a harder compound,

OR

If the outside of the tires is fine and the inside is worn to the cords, it's an alignment issue. Full stop. Get camber arms, and toe bolts, put them on and get it aligned. This is the solution to the issue. I'll bet both your camber and toe are way out to have inside wear like that without the outsides being chewed up.

Its simple. If you want to play, you got to pay! Performance tires cost $$$ I'm happy if I get 5K out of my tires, but then again, I really don't give a sh!t.

I got over 12K on my stock Yokohama Advan sport tires this is including 6 HPDE events as well..
