Newbie need to learn to replace break pads by myself

I've never change break pads before. Now I think I need new break pads. Do I need to replace 4 of them at the same time? Where can I find break pads for my sport model ? I went to several websites, but when I try to buy there are only 2 choices. First is for Base model and second is for Touring. I heard that Sport model have different brake system, so I do not know what kind of brake pads I need to go get. Moreover, my friends said it is very easy. I just need to remove wheels and remove 2 pins to remove old pads and replace it. I am looking for some DIY ,but I didnt found any. I found one how to change rotors, but I just need to change my pads :shakes head:

PS. I black out my own headlights, so my friend said it is easier than what I did. I should be able to do it with ease.

You can go to Z1 Motorsports or any other website that sells the set for the sport model. You'll have a few to choose from if you want to go with aftermarket pads. The process is rather easy and I believe there are threads in the DIY section that may help you. Not sure if it's the same for the sport brakes, but you'll need some basic hand tools including something to compress the piston in the calipers (I think they drop right in for the sport package actually). You can re-use the shims as long as they're still intact. You can usually see if you need pads or not by looking old pad and comparing it to the new pad. You don't have to replace all four, but you do need to replace in pairs. Front set vs rear set for example. The front pads tend to wear a bit faster in normal driving. The sport models are Akebonos, not Brembo, but the steps are usually the same or close to it. Base and Touring are the trim line. You're looking for either base with the sports package or touring with the sports package.

Changing brake pads is arguably the easiest "major" job on a car. If you've done any wrench turning before, you should be able to handle it.

While all disc brakes are basically the same, the details can trip you up if you are not prepared (eg, shims, indexing pins, clips). Make sure you have any "special" tools available (eg, something to compress the piston, if needed). Review the 370Z-specific DIYs, ask questions before you start, and it should be smooth sailing.
