15mm DRM front spacers don't fit?

2 Attachment(s)
Maybe I'm totally missing something, I hope I am, but do 15mm bolt on spacers not work with the front stock sport rims?

I just tried to put the H&R spacers on today, and the small nuts to tighten the spacer to the rotor stuck out too much for the wheels to sit flush against the spacers face. Did I do something wrong? The 20 mm rear ones went on fine... Been searching for a while and haven't found much on it specifically...

I thought I heard that 15 works fine for front if your wheels have the grooves/dent on the back where it mounts to the hub, otherwise you need 20.

GrooveStyle 03-17-2013 10:41 PM

Yeah, I guess I thought the grooves in the stock ones would work for 15mm, but maybe not?

DEpointfive0 03-17-2013 10:45 PM

...... 15mm doesn't work on the front, this is a VERY well known fact

May be interested in buying them.

^this. Anything under 20 on front and you have to use DRS style. the stud replacement style. Unless you have some crazy large gapping like varrstoens do then you can use DRM but 90% will require you to use DRS under 20.

GrooveStyle 03-17-2013 11:14 PM

Awesome, thanks guys. Yeah, I read a number of threads with people installing 15 DRS, not DRM, and now i know that this is why. Thanks!

does this spacers come in set(4 pcs)? pair? per piece? when we buy it when the price indicated? thanks!

cheshirecat 03-22-2013 03:33 PM

Jesus man. 15mm bolt ons do not work. 20mm do.

the spacers some in sets of 2. the price is for the pair.

i suggest bolt-on H&R 20mm front/25mm rear if you want an aggressive (but non rubbing) setup.

Its known 15mm DRM spacers do not work on the front. Plain and simple. That's why I laughed.

So 20mm front and 25mm back is the way to go? I'm about to pick some up along with Swift Springs, wanna keep the Sport rims for now,

That's what I have and I'm glad I went with them. Nice aggressive look.

Lowered on TEIN S-Tech springs:

Tires are 255/40 front and 285/35 rear. I'm actually selling the tires and spacers as I have new shoes going on with different tires & spacers.

K, just reading all of this about spacers. Does anyone know if this is the same for the Nismo??

I ran DRM series on my G37 with no isssues, so I never would have suspected there to be a problem on the Z's.

I tried doing the 15mm DRM's on the front and the 20mm DRM's on the rear...yep, the front I'm getting vibrations.

Now, my distributor just sent me Ichiba series 2 15mm as well, but I have a feeling I'm going to run into the exact same issue?

1cleanZ 07-19-2013 10:18 AM

N'M...just got my answer on the Ichiba site.

"10mm and15mm Bolt-On Wheel Spacers will not fit with front stock wheels for the 370Z. Only 20mm+ Bolt-On spacers will work. Only Ichiba Type 1 and H&R Type DRS Wheel Spacers will work for stock 370Z front wheels if you are looking for 10mm or 15mm wheel spacers. Ships in 24 Hours"

Just a word to the wise:

Some of us had issues doing bolt-on 20mm spacers for the front wheels. I had that issue. My stock studs stuck out just a tad from the spacer, and didn't let the wheel seat to the spacer.

I think the best option for the front wheels, if you are a DIY guy, is to do stud-replacement spacers for the front wheels.

I hate to bring this back from the dead but does anyone know if a 15mm DRM will work on the front with a 20x9 +35? The wheels are vossen cv5's. I have a 2015 Nismo

Thanks

If you have deep cavities behind the wheel where the stock studs would protrude from the bolt ons then yes. If there are non or they are not that deep then you will need 20mm.

Is this correct?
