what do sway bars do

i was thinking about getting some hochkis sway bars and i was wondering how it would effect the performance and drivability of my car since it is a daily driver, but i do play with it also. like, what exactly do swaybars do?

Sway bar = anti-roll bar.

They add stiffness to your front and rear. You can control if you want the car to understeer or oversteer by adjusting the ratio of stiffness between the font and back.

^^ That and also helps from the chases from twisting in the corners and all

so if i want a good grip car, i should get them cause theill be stiffer correct?

Not necessarily, sometimes too stiff is a bad thing. It really depends alot upon your suspension setup, tires, etc.

What are you looking to do with the car?

Ok - Increased stiffness does not always mean more grip - Like my friend experienced when he had cusco coils + sways on his G. His car handles much better w/ NO sway bars (not even the stock ones) and the coils... but for the Z - if you are on stock suspension a set of sways will probably give you more confidence in the turns and a little more grip. But stiffen it too much and you will be tripoding over corners

well i dont plan on upgrading to coilovers anytime soon (too much mula), but i do like the twistys if ya know what i mean. i really dont plan on upgrading it alot more than it is already to tell the truth my next mods were gonna be the sway bars and the cobb exess port when it comes out. then after that im gonna leave it alone for a while
