If you look at the back on the pivot. You can see the heim joints. They thread into the sleeve that you think is a rod. The way it is adjusted. You loosen up the set srcews that hold the sleeve in place, turn the sleeve in or out. If you turn both sides the same. You adjust camber. Now if you turn one side more then the other side. You are adjusting caster. Simple, and easy to do. Nothing to it.

I understand now, sorry I wasn't grasping how one would affect the other.
So if you want more caster you would loosen the front sleeve and thread out the front heim joint which would move both heim joints in unison towards the back.

Basically, although I'd bet anything that changing caster will by default change your camber with these arms.

If you wanted more positive caster (+), and to keep camber the same. You would move the front sleeve out, and move the rear sleeve in.

Now if you wanted less caster (-), and to keep the camber the same. you would move the front sleeve in, and the rear sleeve out.

If you wanted more caster (+), and more camber (-). You might only have to move the rear sleeve in, and leave the front sleeve alone.

Clear as mud now. ;)

I agree. In my scenario above the positive caster would also add positive camber but if you have enough thread left on the rear heim joint before the sleeve bottomed into it, you could then get back your negative camber.

If design right. You should have more then enough adjustment in it. It don't take much adjustment anyways. You be surprised at what a 1/16" of movement will do.

Anybody has opinion on the cusco front control arms for our cars? They look like SPC?

Don't quote me but I believe they only have limited adjustment on camber pending the amount of drop.

clintfocus 01-01-2013 10:25 PM

im waiting for the SPL front arms too, going to do the rear arms soon as well. for now in the front i have the front upper kinetix, they leave plenty to be desired but fact of the matter is they've held up well to my track antics since ive been tracking the 370. Also i modified mine to get another negative degree outta them. at my current ride height(which is not low by any means) my front sits at -3 camber. But the SPL ive been assured will have great adjustment range, high quality, and out soon

Rusty 01-01-2013 10:32 PM

I'm waiting for the SPL arms too. When they come out, I'm getting everything. Front and rear. :yum:

cv129 01-01-2013 11:36 PM

370z came out in 09. Here we are still waiting for a quality front control arm, I'm almost giving up hopes of SPL producing them for mass market.

Has anyone gotten in solid contact and/or ordered the doran ones?

Happy with my kinetix! 15K and no problems...

I'm hoping they will be around the same price as the z33 arms, but i know they put a lot of development into them so they might be a bit more!

Z33 arms are $759

They told me the same thing in Dec.

Ok so I didt know it was going to be so hard to decide which arms to get. I guess is between Kinetix and SPC for me.
Nobody has mentioend Eibach...

What should I get then?

roy'sz 02-16-2013 06:51 PM

I got the Kinetix. Piece of advice for you.....before final assy, get yourself a grease gun with some mobil1 chassis lube and lubricate the upper ball joint(mine had a small popping sound on them due to being slightly dry and it reoccured after 10k miles. I didn't buy the greasegun and lube the ball joints myself until recently). From assy they are a little on the dry side. But I have had mine for 25k and LOVE them! My car has kept the same camber angle.

Baer383 02-16-2013 11:23 PM

Or you can make your own.
My camber or caster CAN'T change!!!!

^ amen!!

Juice14 02-17-2013 12:14 AM

JEJE i dont think I can make my own. Ill keep looking into it, Im almost set on SPC just because so many bad reviews about kinetix, your review is the only decent one, I dont have a problem with haginv to grease them up but its disapoingint, or makes you think they didnt take the time to develop ot right or nt enough quality control. Anyways thanks for the reply Ill be cautios in case I get Kinetix.

Do they both have the same issue? do they both have problems as far as loosing the alignment?

thanks
