Kw v3 question, please help !!

okay, so i found a used set of coil over. And the owner said the thread is messed up and need to rethread. And i found out that a local shop that can does it, only 2 shocks needs to rethread.

Question is, is it safe to ride with the shocks rethread? and should i get it and rethread it?

It's not really a question anyone can answer for you, it will boil down to do YOU feel safe riding on them with the risk of failure and a corner of your car bottoming out.

I'd personally recommend holding out for another used set that isn't as badly worn, or saving up and buying new.

so if i buy that set, and send the 2 shocks that need to rethread back to kw, will they fix it for me?

What threads are we talking about? If they are the threads on the shocks themselves?

They should be fine as long as they tighten down after the threads have been fixed.

All the weights on the coils and so the threads on the shock are just to hold the shock in place.

If you can prove that it was a product defect and not an improper installation or usage.. Which without being the purchaser would be very hard to do. I wouldn't imagine you getting it done without cost..

okay the treads we talking about is on top not the coils.

Not sure what you mean by this... any pics of the messed up threads?

Do you mean the posts on top that go through the body in the fender wells?

the top where you mount the pillowmount

That should be easier to fix than if it were the lowering threads on the coil itself. If you had a proper sized bit, you could essentially retool it yourself. But yeah, that part you could see having fixed.

Although I would have the original owner have this done before you buy it. Or look for another set that isn't damaged.
