CASTER question... help

My car is currently running negative "caster" at the front right hence making the ride at higher speeds like 70-80mph uncomfortable (slight wobble on the steering wheel).
I know our cars have non-adjustable caster (not camber) but was thinking about buying the SPC Front Camber arms since they seem to be able to let me adjust the caster back to positive. Am I correct or can someone point me in the right direction...

Thanks in advance

Thanks I appreciate it.
I know what caster / camber / toe etc is... My question was specifically: if the SPC Front Camber arms will allow me to adjust the caster???...
Supposedly on the description of the part - it says that it does have adjustable caster, I just want someone, that has them, to confirm that, before I spend 350-400 $$$...

Thanks again...

Whoops -- sorry I misread :p

I believe they are caster adjustable -- but are you sure that wobble isn't just due to uneven tire wear or improperly balanced wheels?

I've checked the balance on the wheels/tires and alignment probably 3 times each just to make sure lol (also tires are brand new)... everything looks right on spec... I have the rear SPC camber arms because I'm lowered on coilovers and the only thing that does not match is the caster on the front right...

Caster is usually around +5.5 I think.
For it to be negative on one wheel is indicative of a more serious issue like a bent control arm or something. Did you run over any curbs, road debris or baby seals lately?

The front right wheel was hit on a curve. The control arms, ball joints, suspension (suspension was actually changed completely to coilovers) everything has been checked, double checked, triple checked... nothing is bent but it did move the caster to a negative position (so I'm guessing the top front right arm was moved at the moment of impact- backwards). That's why I was thinking about buying the SPC front arms to adjust the caster back to positive.

Yea, I don't think you messed up your caster if nothing is notably bent. I suspect your toe numbers to be the problem not your caster. Also if the top of the suspension moved backwards it would increase caster not decrease it to negative number. I would find a competent shop. A large caster change from side to side +5 to -X would cause a pretty significant pull in the steering wheel.

The toe numbers are right on spec. Yeah I might have to go to another alignment shop and get it checked at again... I've only been to 1 alignment shop. I had the control arms, ball joints, struts, etc checked by 3 different shops and everyone agreed that there is nothing bent...

What type of machine are they using and who is the shop?

I only ask about the machine because I have noticed that on low cars optical head machines have a tendancy to throw out false numbers if the toe beam gets to close to the bottom of the car. This is one of the many reasons I don't use an optical machine but have gone back to the older (Mine is 1989) Toe-line machine. The new reflector style machines clearly don't have this problem but I can't justify that kind of capital for my extremely small operation.

I'll try to find out what machine they are using, thanks I didn't know that.
