how low is too low?

apparently my base measurement pre drop were inaccurate. they were roughly 28" F and 28 1/4" R to the fender directly above the center of the wheel, from the ground. so i spent alot of man hours (on off on off suspension) and got it to 26 3/4" F and 27" R. drop of 1.25". i could care less of scraping the driveways, and i have no issues with the rear hitting, but i do the front.

if i jump on the gas hard, and let off sharply, the engine braking pulls the front down enough to scrape the chin spoiler.

additionally, there is a nascar-like freeway exit by my house (3 lanes, very banked, concrete) that i was able to scrape both the mud flap and chinspolier on with ease (outside corner). even pulled out the clips on the spolier.

anyways, i know, raise it up. i just have not seen too many people complain at this 1.25" drop. if anyone could get a quick measurement of their stock Z, perhaps i am much lower than i think i am.

thanks!

Is this on the stock wheels/tires? What dampening settings are you at on your coilovers?

stock wheels tires. (of course it will be some F14's soon as i see the one gentlemen who is getting black on white so i can decide on color!!)

the shocks are set in the middle, which i believe is 15 (from either end, 30 clicks available).

it feel great, but a little stiff around town.

Hmmm. A 1.25" drop doesn't seem like it would be that low.

ill get some pics later to let everyone see the drop, but that is what i was thinking. especially with the stiffer coil overs (which i am VERY happy with BTW)

im thinking i must have been in too much of a rush and mismeaursed the first time

As soon as they come in I am heading straight to get them mounted, then home to do a quick wash and a few pics for everyone here :icon18:

Heading out in a minute to go see what my measurements are for you

thanks guys. looks like my measurement were probably correct. oh well, i guess i found the limit of lowering for myself......

:ugh2:

sounds like you might be getting too much body-roll. Have you thought about stiffening the sways to match the coilovers?

Just a thought

i have hotchkis sways....

Caravanshaka 07-03-2009 06:09 PM

well that is me not reading your sig and seeing that =)

I got nothin' then. The eibachs are 1 inch drop, I can't imagine going 1/4" lower would make that much of a difference.

I would still like pics? I think it's normal to scratch the plastic in front of the wheels.
