Newb Spring question

Currently have 46,000 miles on factory suspension. Picking up swift springs from friend with his shocks which have only 15,000 miles on them (he just switched to BC coils). I understand springs on stock shocks limit life so I imagine putting them on my 46,000 mile shocks is probably a waste. Is it even worth it to switch to his 15,000 shocks with the swifts or is it best to drop springs on fresh shocks and if you cant then go coils?

I daily drive and am a student so I am looking for a good cheap solution for suspension and I know swifts are the favorite springs on here. Let me know what you guys think about my two shock options. I dont track or anything, just cruise around town.

How long are the swift springs active and good on a stock shock. Dont really want to take his shocks from him if its a waste. He is giving them to me for a deal and then i can keep them in my house until I save up enough for a shop to install them. Thanks

This may be a silly statement, but if you already have your friend's shocks/struts with springs already installed...just bolt them on.
Save yourself the pain/cost of installing them on your older shocks/struts.

If you're having to buy the shocks for additional $ from your friend, the cost is probably around the same as having someone install the springs on your old shocks anyway.

P.S. Also replacing your stock setup with his stock+swifts is ridiculously fast&easy if you're mechanically inclined.

I will leave him with his shocks to sell if I don't need them. I dont want to take them from him if I can use the swifts on my springs that's why I was asking. I know nothing about springs and don't know what would happen if I tried to put them on 46,000 mile shocks

Pay for your buddies shocks and springs as a set, pre-assembled. Remove yours and give them back to your buddy to sell or sell them yourself for whatever you can get.
You are making a 4 hour job a 2 hour job, and removing the difficult part of the swap by keeping them as a set.
