Brake Pad Backing Plate Importance
 
Well It looks like I forgot to swap over two of the backing plates (one on each side(the inside pads)). I noticed on the pic I took of the old pads days later (see pic below). How important are these? Am I going to run into any problems without them?

The reason I ask is because my low-profile jack is toast and I really don't want to pick up a new one unless it is absolutely necessary.

It just dampens some vibration noise (squeal), don't worry about it unless the brakes start squealing and the noise starts to annoy you.
