Brakes
 

After two weeks of ownership and the 2nd wash I gotta tell you there was almost no brake dust on the front wheels. I thought this was a little strange. Sure there is some bedding in that happens but the amount of residue accumulated was pretty minimal.

Is it just me?

It is a touring without the sport package ~800 miles total.

Anyone change and get softer pads? If so what?

Most of my driving is freeway not to much stop & go.

I've got the sport brakes and the dusting is very minimal, even after about 300 miles of spirited driving in the mountains a few weekends ago..

Stops great, No dust >>> Perfect combo!

Yeah, I've also found the rotors are extremely clean; no dust at all. I don't necessarily brake hard but I still expect dust, and so far, I can do a white glove test and it isn't black; it's basically gray.

But if you let the rotors rust and then brake, you might be in for making your car look like you just drove it out of your dusty attic, or something similar that I can't think of.

oh yes,these brakes is powerful,& yet produced very little dust....unlike my old Rover75,which uses BMW brakes,very dirty,even after 25 km of 'soft driving'.

I don't think it's just me but has anyone noticed how the brakes feel in rain? Just came out of a heavy rain and felt the brakes grab... maybe because they're colder?

Takes a fraction of a second to squeegee the water off and fo the pads grab. This is more noticeable on plain rotors as opposed to slotted or drilled.

Yeah, I swore I felt a little bit of slip and then I would press more, then it grabbed like hell. Not too bad but it definitely felt completely different.

Sport brakes and ceramic pads. I'm sure there must be dust somewhere but I'm not seeing it.
