Pads for Sport Package Daily and Track with OEM rotors
Hi, im going to install the stillen brake cooling Kit soon. Id like to Change the pads also. I goNna Track and Daily the car. A Dealer Told me the project mu ns pads Suizid Be good. What would you recommend?

I use EBC Yellow. They dust more than OEM, and sometimes make a little noise when they are cold but otherwise work well on the street and are pretty good on the track. They are also fairly inexpensive.

pads
For track use the carbotech xp12 up front and either the xp10 or xp12 at the rear depending on how much rear brake you want.
for street the carbotech 1521 are much better than the stock pads, but will not handle continuous lapping at the track without overheating. here is a link to the different carbotech compounds Carbotech Performance Brakes |

What about project mu? |

sh111t. Better not gonna drive them now, if the tuner does say this :D |
What about the project mu
b-spec or hc+? Are the hc+ too noisy? They seems to have good breaking power! http://www7.pic-upload.de/18.05.12/1nljen1wsnbq.jpg |
I've use the project mu pad ns type.
Seem to be ok. But at the moment my z rotor is wraped. Going to purchase the stoptech drilled and slotted type rotor. Most members recommended it. |

This. Unless you need to know where the rotor will crack. |
i purchased the stillen pads they have for the sport package. im not really happy with them for street driving. the dont bite as hard as the OEM pads, are messy, and hard stops wernt as controlled feeling as the OEM's.

Do drilled rotors crack under normal daily driving?

I believe it was my third track day and there were no visible cracks before the event. Keep in mind this was in my previous G35 with Porterfield R4 pads. It’s amazing the abuse I put my G35 brakes through and never once boiled my fluid or experienced “ice mode”. And I was only running ATE Super Blue. Sad to say, the 370Z’s ABS system is a regression compared the G35’s. |
Carbotech XP8s here (DD)
Have about 900 miles on them. Still not a squeek yet. When cold, bite is about equal to OEM, much more bite than OEM when warm, way more dust, about 5x OEM. Stock Rotors |

So I need new rotors too, pronto. What was the verdict on what to get for daily driving and 6 track events per year? My next event is June 17th at Laguna Seca. |

Also, if you haven't already done it, I highly recommend getting SS brake lines. That makes a really noticeable difference in braking performance. |

Update on the Carbotech XP8s
Up to about 3k miles and got my first squeeks out of them. Had them up in the mountains last night. Had to have the stereo off hear them but it was a high pitch noise like you would have on a hearing test. Got them nice and hot on the way down and the squeeled a little louder, even at 35-20mph range, harder I pressed the louder they got. Definitely not what I expected. Figured it would go go away at higher pedal force and higher speed. Still not that loud and the stereo would of made it difficult to hear. Anyway... not a peep out of them under normal driving after the curves were done and none on the way to work. Don't get me wrong, still love them. They're just living up to their warning about using them as street pads. Will try sanding the pads and rotors down a little and rebedding when I get around to it. No hurry, it's not an annoyance yet. |
how often are yall flushing out your brake fluid? every pad change, or at a mileage interval?
|
How do you guys feel about the Z1 branded cross/drilled rotors? reliable?

I'd let the brake fluid go a year if I was using the Castrol SRF (best wet boil performance) Try to change it after the wet season is over. |
